Make elemental damage types more distinct for guns, bring back elemental primaries.

Currently the only application for the three different element types in Destiny (Solar, Arc, and Void) is to take advantage of burn modifiers and deal more damage to shielded enemies with a shield of the corresponding element. I think that these elements should be made more distinct, with unique traits applied to each- these traits would only be applied to weapons, as many of them are already present on Subclass abilities: Solar Damage -Rapid hits have a chance to set AI combatants on fire, dealing damage over time. Solar damage weapons would gain the ability to set enemies on fire when scoring repeated hits; kind of like Thorn, but it procs randomly, and only on minions of the Darkness in PvE. Damage multipliers would be applied with each successful hit after it activates, making it especially effective on rapid-fire weapons like Auto-Rifles and Machine Guns, increasing their effectiveness against Majors and Ultras in PvE. Arc Damage -Landing rapid precision shots has a chance to suppress and stun AI combatants. Arc damage weapons would apply the effects of both the Suppressor Grenade and Flashbang Grenade upon scoring a precision hit on minions of the Darkness; as with Solar Damage, the perk does not activate with every precision shot, but rather has a chance to activate. Could be useful for managing heavy-hitters like Hallowed Knights and Wizards, Imperial Centurions, and other bad guys that could otherwise deal serious damage to your fireteam. Void Damage -Landing multiple hits on AI combatants has a chance to weaken them, causing them to take increased damage from all sources for a short time. Don't have a Nightstalker on your Fireteam? Void damage could be the next best thing, as it would apply the same weakening effect as the Nightstalker's tether when scoring repeated hits, minus the stunning and suppression effects. This could be a big help against the more damage-spongy bosses like Omnigul. Landing multiple hits after activation will cause the effect to stack, increasing the duration. Kinetic Damage -Increased stagger against AI combatants. Kinetic rounds overpenetrate minions of the Darkness. Kinetic Damage should not be left behind. Kinetic weapons would gain increased stagger and armor penetration; including the ability to over-penetrate the Hive Knight's Wall of Darkness and Cabal Phalanx shield. Kinetic rounds would do less damage after over-penetrating a target, so they wouldn't be overpowered... but they would be more useful in PvE. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *Elemental Primaries* We all want them back. More than that, many of us want them to be applicable to any primary Legendary weapon, no longer restricted solely to Endgame weapons. The best way to do this would be with Elemental Cores; a consumable that your could purchase from Xur in exchange for a handful of Strange Coins. Buy one, and Infuse it into a weapon to give it that element. Only Elemental Cores would not be limited to Primary Weapons; you could apply them to Specials and Heavies as well, further expanding your ability to customize your loadout. Elements can be changed at any time; provided you have the Strange Coins to build up a healthy stock of Elemental Cores. There would be 5 different Elemental Cores you could buy from Xur: Kinetic Core -For that extra kick. Apply to any weapon to imbue with Kinetic energy. Solar Core -Burn away the Darkness. Apply to any weapon to imbue with Solar energy. Arc Core -Wield raw power. Apply to any weapon to imbue with Arc energy. Void Core -Draw foes into the void. Apply to any weapon to imbue with Void energy. Unstable Core -This core vibrates with a volatile combination of Arc, Solar, and Void energy. Applying this to a weapon allows the element type to adapt to match enemy shields, but the core expires after 30 minutes. * * * That's all I got. Post your thoughts.

 • Its good that you specified ai. I like the core idea. Especially the unstable one. Where would get these cores? Raid or can they drop in legendary weapon engrams? Also make it so they only work with a weapon type. So if it drops from primary engram it only works with a primary weapon.
