What character in Overwatch is noob friendly?
I just got the game. Don't quite understand anything about it. How should I start?

In Offence... [b]Soldier 76[/b] - Literally the most versatile hero in the game. In many situations he is self sufficient, however his skill ceiling is quite low. [b]McCree[/b] - Great for pest control, and if anyone here plays League his combo is essentially as simple as Garen's, just flashbang, fan fire, roll, fan fire. Using that you can take out most tanks. He's great for pest control. In Defense... [b]Bastion[/b] - He can self heal and mow down anyone, provided cover. [b]Törbjorn[/b] - Easy to wrap your head around. Stay near your turret and you'll be fine. With tanks... Honestly, I'd recommend to stay away from these guys as a noob, as all of the tanks are a bit unforgiving. But if you insist... [b]Roadhog[/b] - He's a beast at pest control, and if used correctly, a real outlet for team kills. Support... [b]Mercy[/b] - Many will say Lucio, however there's a huge problem with Lucio as a noob. It's a fundamental difference between Mercy and Lucio. Lucio relies on the environment to to do well. This requires knowledge of the maps, something you won't have for a while. Mercy relies on the location of the enemy players to excel. You can quite easily achieve awareness of these things, especially if there's a Hanzo on your team.

Definitely not Zenyatta, Tracer, Genji, or Zarya. Widowmaker can be considered harder now that you actually have to aim now. Mccree is still very easy after nerf. The nerf affected those who suck at aiming.

3 RepliesPro tip: in the options you can change the button layout for each of the characters. If on console I would highly recommend changing jump from a button to a bumper or trigger, especially for Lucio, so that you can still aim while jumping, and in Lucio's case wall riding. Each character can be customized. I also changed Mercys weapon swap from the d-pad to left trigger so I can do some damage in a pinch.

Go into the practice range and try out like two characters per role. My recommendations: [b]Offense:[/b] Soldier and Pharah [b]Defense:[/b] Choose any two really [b]Tank:[/b] Reinhardt and Roadhog [b]Support:[/b] Lucio and Mercy Over time you would get to master these characters in quick play, and eventually pick up new characters. Before I try a new characters, I always read their abilities in the Hero Info bar, and I always test them out on the practice range. Bar Zarya, I got good with her really easily.

I just got the game yesterday and would say soldier 76 is probably the easiest to use right away. Junkrat is easy also just spam nades.

2 Replies76 is an easy intro to the game. Simple gun and easy abilities, highly self sufficient. There's many other heroes that have simple to understand kits, but they might be harder to use. Symmetra is easy to play but difficult to use very effectively. Pharah and Lucio are also very easy to play, and I enjoy both a lot. If you're self concious about your abilites use the training range or a custom game to explore some of the maps and heroes til you're more comfortable.

Soldier 76...as a attacker/flanker Reaper. Bastion as a defensive hero. Lucio as a Healer. The healers in the game tend to be pretty squishy or take a lot of skill/experience to play on offense. Lucio is a good blend of solid healing ability and pretty reasonable offensive firepower.

Soilder 76 is basically a generic soldier guy. Low skill. Reaper doesn't take to much skill to use effectively, but a noob Reaper isn't as effective at flanking.

Soldier 76. Closest thing to traditional FPS and is the most versatile. Works well on defence and attack. Torbjorn. Drop turret and hit it with your hammer as it does all the work. You may think i'm joking but a lot of plays of the game I see of Torbjorn are him doing that. Junkrat if you don't want to do something stupid like aim. Lucio is the easiest healer to use. Bastion. If you can get a decent position. Mei. Why play the game when you can annoy your team and put walls in silly places.

4 RepliesPress y when looking @ your characters. Anything that has one star in the top right corner is noob friendly. But I recommend Genji. He takes some skills, but can kill a Bastion without losing ammo
