In the lore surrounding TLW and Thorn, we see that in the final showdown between Malphur and Dredgen Yor, Malphur hits Yor with 3 shots, and he describes feeling powerful and full of light. He is also frequently described as extremely powerful and special. This, coupled with the fact that TLW and golden gun's models are identical in shape and size, as well as the overt amount of lore surrounding both guns, suggest to me that Malphur was possibly the first to use the Golden gun.
Either Shin Malphur was the first or it might have been Ana Bray was. Personally I think it was Shin, as the model for Golden Gun IS The Last Word. We know that Ana's a Golden Gun user, because of this:
"You want another story about the Twlight Gap? Ana Bray, the Hunter. We all dug deep that day. We all touched the Light in ways we never thought we could. Or should. Ana, though. When she fired the Gun, where her Golden blasts hit home, she left behind the pools of light. Like splashes of sunlight that burned and burned." —Lord Shaxx
So it's up for debate. Ana whose shots leave behind Sunspots or Shin who ended the greatest Darkness-consumed Guardian in the memory of his lost mentor?
