I'll show you what shotgun I'm talking about and why it is so good. It is: [u]Her Champion[/u] The base stats of Her Champion are listed on the left and the numbers to the right are the stats of the Party Crasher Rate of fire: 5<[b]11[/b] Impact: [b]67[/b]>64 Range: 17<[b]24[/b] Stability: 41=41 Reload: 29=29 My Her Champion's perks: [u]ballistics:[/u] -Linear Compensator -Aggressive Ballistics [u]Middle Column perks [/u] -High Caliber Rounds -Oiled frame -flared mag-well [u]Instinctive perks[/u] -Full Auto -Final round [b] Out of the Ballistic options and the Middle Perk Tree options, I use Linear Compensator and Oiled frame[/b] [b][i][u]Why is it the best PVE shotgun?[/u][/i][/b] Because of it's massive damage output. Full auto increases the fire rate, Final round gives a 33% damage boost on the last bullet of the Magazine and Oiled frame makes reloading a breeze. It chews up swarms of mobs, it tears though Majors and it can even deal massive damage to some ultras, such as the Psion Flayers and Omnigul. It does have much worse range than the Party Crasher so you'll have to get closer to enemies but with Full Auto and a snappy fast reload from Oiled frame, you'll be just fine when you're getting mobbed by ads, or if a major is charging you or if you're farming Omnigul or if you just need to melt a Psion Flayer. [/b] Now you all had a lot to say. Now, in response to your comments, I will now begin my counter arguments. I'll take on Invective, seeing as it was mentioned the most frequently out of all of the shotguns mentioned. Lord of Wolves will be next up. (Now just a note, when I am referring to the Her Champion, it can be extended to other higher impact shotguns such as Party Crasher and Conspiracy theory D.) Invective has the best name of any secondary weapon in destiny, hands down, Invective (noun) means, "Insulting, abusive or highly critical language. [i]'he let out a steam of invective'[/i]" Invective is great for mobs of ads but it's low magazine size of 4 means that you'll be reloading often. It just makes it fall short of being viable. If you don't have a good legendary shotgun, then Invective will do but you have better options available to you. For single target DPS, Invective cannot compete with any harder hitting shotgun with full Auto, or even another shotgun of it's archetype. Burden of proof, next big thing, the shotgun from Dead Orbit, with full auto on any of those three shotguns, they all beat Invective because they have more ammo in the magazine. If Invective gets a buff to it's magazine size of 4, we'll have a different story but it falls flat. Sorry Invective, you lost. [u]The Lord of Wolves[/u] The Lord of Wolves is a very unique exotic and is the only burst fire shotgun. It fires a 5 round burst and holds up to 109 ammo (although, if we counted each 5 round burst as one normal shotgun blast, it would be more like ~21 rounds). When compared to Her Champion, it has a faster fire rate of 11, an almost identical impact of 64, a shorter range of 5 (but with a 5 round burst, it can out range the Her Champion), a lower stability of 12 and a slower reload stat of 22, but due to the weapon's unique design, it reloads much like an auto rifle and has a faster reload than the Her Champion. It's exotic perk, Devil's touch, adds 3+ recovery per kill (does not stack) and lasts for 30 seconds. The stats don't sound good on paper but in practice, the Lord of Wolves shreds. The 5 round burst staggers targets like crazy and provides easy kills. The only two things that the Her Champion has on Lord of Wolves is a higher reload stat (not speed but stat) of 43 and a higher stability of 31. The only other concerns I have with this weapon are that it's an exotic (a petty concern), and that the Devil's touch perk isn't really good. 3+ recovery is okay but you have to be close to your allies to utilize this. The only two places that I could imagine this being useful is in the Challenge of Elders, where you usually are very close to your allies, and in other boss fights. I don't see utility in this for the raid because the Her Champion, or any legendary shotgun, would be better if you just need those Phalanxes gone (in the beginning of the raid.) However, all concerns aside, the Lord of Wolves clearly wins. It still has more ammo than the Her Champion (18 rounds compared to ~21 bursts), and it's uniqueness and sexy design make for an enjoyable shooting experience. It's 5 round burst is more effective at stunning targets than any shotgun with high caliber rounds. [b][u][i]We have a new champion and it's the Lord of Wolves.
