I pre-ordered Destiny as soon as I found out Bungie was making a new game, I played the Beta and sadly over hyped myself for the actual game, I was disappointed to see how short the solo game was and I had no drive to come back and play the multi-player. I would come back to the game for about two or three weeks to play the new DLC but that didn't hold my attention very long. Then the Taken Kong expansion released and I didn't feel like dropping $40 to play it, so I eventually deleted the game off my Xbox and sold the game. But now I see the new expansion trailer and in the back of my head, wonder if it's worth it to come back, come back and grind, go thru reads with friends and try out the content that has been placed into the game. So my question is, is it worth it to return?

Yes. But stay away from the forums.

Sounds like you don't like the game. Don't waste your money.

Taken King as a whole was a great expansion with a lot of good PVE content. PVP is ever fluctuating so if that's part of the decision it's more of a flavor of the month. Iron banner is still a jewel. Trials is still sweaty. Raid wise it's long, but fun. The loot itself has gone out the window, and more so it's a grind for light then things like Fatebringer, Raid helms, etc. The quest for the touch of malice is epic, and really takes you through about all the xpac has to offer (areas, events, missions, strikes, raids). Unfortunately it's still grim card related if you want a good story, but if you do read the grim cards there's actually a good story. Lastly, the return of the prison of elders with a new concept the challenge of elders was a great, free addition we were given recently. My wife and I were day 1 players and have taken breaks between each xpac, but I'll say we've definitely gotten the 80$ (x2) out of the time spent on this one. I think a lot of the grief is people want literally world of Warcraft like content with only paying $40 once a year.

Wait until more information is released on the new expansion and make your decision on that.
