All of a sudden my ps4 needed an update for Destiny and wants to update to version 1.24??
I thought this was an old version, how is this possible?
It seems to be stuck at 'preparing to download' at 10%. ---> IT IS NOW DOWNLOADING
Possible solutions:
Rebooting
Rebooting into rest mode
Shutting down, unplugged for 30 seconds
Restoring licenses
Deleting Destiny from Storage
Deleting pending update
Restart/resume update (multiple times)
Combination of the above
Possible solution by Reubenatrix: Defrag PS4 (can take a long time!)
So this seems to be a mix of 2 problems??
1) Stuck at downloading update
2) Downloading a very old update?? (SOLVED: patch version different from game version)
Please help. This is making me crazy.
EDIT: It seems the patch version is not the same as the game version.
EDIT2: It seems to be working now. It is currently downloading. You can try all of the things i tried above and most of all, be patient! It is currently downloading the full patch. Some people reporting it will only download a small patch, even after starting the full download (19GB).

1 Replyi have problem with this 1.24 Update too on my ps3 i have dowload error: Podczas pobierania wystąpił błąd. (80710723) what is this ???
-
On my ps3 it didn't even pass 0 it's just sitting doing nothing for a day...
-
Obrigado, no dia mesmo após deixar o ps4 em standby ele atualizou somente o necessário , obrigado pelo retorno.

Mine gets to 3% and then a message pops up saying it is unable to download the update. Every other game on my PS4 updates fine yet Destiny doesn't. I've tried all the solutions and only downloading and reinstalling Destiny has worked for me in the past. I'm not going to continue reinstalling the game for every update. Bungie needs to get off their butts and find a fix for this issue or else I'm going to get a refund.

1 ReplyQuestion: if you are having issues with destiny update is your destiny game on disc or digital download?
-
3 RepliesIs it really a 20gb download?...
-
Ok this is an issue for real why is bungie not responding?
-
This happens to me with every Destiny update. it is incredibly annoying. I have no problems with all my other PS4 games.
-
Woke to a 19gb update? Was there a post about this by Bungie?
-
Bump people. Someone from bungie needs to see this.
-
This is rediculous. It will not download. I've tried everything. What the hell is wrong
-
1 ReplySame issue here :(

After trying all these as a potential solutions, the only thing that worked was downloading the whole 19gb overnight. The game is running, my Hunter still looks boss... will report back anything that causes an error.

Mine is just flat out saying "cannot download". I know for certain I have the space (40gb). It makes it to 3% then breaks. Wtf? I've tried all of the above and no success. Starting to think its about time to just uninstall permanently. Can only imagine the 100 things this patch will break trying to fix a few problems.

19 gb for a patch? No way its that big lol well either way I have the same problem over 40gb of free storage and it wont download I tried everything but reinstalling the game since that will take to long so I asked for a refund.

This is so weird. When I signed on last night, it said I need a small update (like 92 mb or something), then after that it told me I needed a 19 gb. update, which I thought had to be a mistake. After I installed the small update, my system starting reinstalling destiny. Now it's been stuck on 53% for like 8 hrs. Should I cancel and just delete destiny, then reinstall it? I'm on Xbox One btw.

1 ReplyIdk why, because I didn't use any of these methods, but for me the update just went passed preparing at 10%, and now the update is complete after like 15 minutes, and I can play. Weird
-
Good job bungie, you never cease to disappoint me, 19gb update?!?! And all these problems like stuck at 10%? Really let me down. I guess i should have expected this from bungie.

Edited by pumpkinhead1990: 6/24/2016 12:09:37 PMWeird. Im getting a similar problem, but instead it wants me to download a 9.3 Gb update file. I paused the download and turned my playstation off then on again, now just waiting to see whether it will get passed 10% preparing. It did last time after about 5 minutes. Edit: seemed to work well. Took about 5 minutes to go from 10% to 75% then another 5 mins to go to 100% and then it was installed just like that.

I'm absolutely -blam!-ing done I have literally tried everything on this list and now I lost destiny and have to -blam!-ing reinstall it

4 RepliesIs there a way to fix this for sure. Its currently making me download the full 19 gig.
-
2 RepliesI have the same issue 1.24 update stuck at 10% WTF.. so annoying!!!! Bungie say something!!!
-
Same here on Xbone. a mere 73meg download and it's stuck and won't download. Is there anyway we can download the patch from a working server and install it into the xbone via usb or something? It's really annoying when you can't play at all because of bugs compared to a game balance patch. Guess we all have to play GoW or Halo instead.
-
1 ReplyThe version number of the update file itself is not the same as the game version reported by bungie. 1.24 is the most recent patch when it comes to patch version number on ps4. I have no idea why they don't have the same number in both places. It would be nice if in the update history they could place game version and some actual patch notes instead of simply telling people to goto bungie.net/updates

1 ReplyEdited by Reubenatrix: 6/24/2016 4:54:05 AMI had that yesterday after defragging my ps4 HD. This is what you need to do: 1. Delete destiny alltogether (all cvharacter info is on Bungie servers) 2. Put Destiny disc in or redownload if digital purchase 3. Go to start Destiny to prompt update 1.24/5 (its called 1.24 or 1.25 - I can't remember exactly - could be 1.23? - anyway, the impotant thing is it contains what you need) Its 20 gig and takes 10-20 mins to prepare....a few hours depending on connection to download. 4. There will be another small update when you next try to load Destiny. Do that too. 5. Then you are all good and up to date. It won't work unless you delete and then re-install Destiny. Believe me - I tried that. 20 gig update on top of a corrupted file sucks when it still doesn't work. I was unable to play for about 15 hours all up. My connection is pretty crap. Let me know how it goes. Muy issuse after defrag resulted in Destiny having a pause icon on it (turned out to be the massive background download). But it was a bit mystifying to have it after defrag.
