SotP S2 Trailer: Dakota Jones

Dakota stood at the gate of the Vault. Memories flashed through his head: A team of six marched through the cave hidden behind the Vex wall, facing horrors many at the time could not believe. Dakota cringed, trying to flush the thoughts out of his head. He blinked repeatedly as his mind came back to the present. Dakota shot off the advancing praetorians. The Vex had total control of the time gates, Dakota was not going to open that gate alone. Luckily, two Guardians were running patrols around Venus. Dakota waved and shouted to them, "Hey, warlock! I need your assistance in getting this thing open!" The warlock and huntress looked to each other, before joining Dakota on the cliffside. The warlock looked around, then stared at Dakota's visor, "I apologize for my bluntness, but you're an idiot for attempting to face the Vault alone," The warlock shrugged. "My business is my own. I just need your help in getting this gate open," Dakota was holding back his thoughts. "I'm sorry, but I don't want to be the cause of someone's suicide..." Whisps of smoke began to rise from Dakota's shoulders, "Please. I just need you to stand on these plates. Once that gate opens, you can go on with your day," Dakota spoke through closed teeth, but his gold and white helmet hid that. After thirty minutes of fighting praetorians and forming the Vex spire, the gate opened. The warlock and huntress sped off on sparrows, leaving Dakota to venture into the abyss alone. Dakota found himself back in the Templar's Well. But the Templar was nowhere in sight. Neither were the oracles with their haunting tones of negation. With the coast clear, Dakota walked towards the gate at the back of the immense room. Just as he reached it, Taken blights spawned around the room. Dakota looked around frantically, "S***! S***! S***!" Dakota ran for cover behind a couple of pillars. Several Taken Vex surrounded him, shielding each other. Dakota tried picking off what targets he could. The several slap rifles tore into Dakota's recently repaired coat. Blood, sweat and debris stained his once pristine white and gold uniform. With the last of the Taken Vex destroyed, or ripped back to whatever world they originated, Dakota stepped out of cover. Dakota's arms and chest were riddled with cuts and bruises. Blood dripped from the gashes and left a trail of Dakota's path. Dakota limped around, trying to root out any hiding foes. But the foes found him. A Taken Captain leapt at Dakota, swinging both blades, cutting two gashes in Dakota's back. Dakota fell to the ground, screaming in pain! Dakota awkwardly drew his sword and rolled to his back. The captain swung down with power, but Dakota manged to block the attack. His sword, a both of the captain's drew closer to Dakota's face as his arms gave out on him. A second captain stood above Dakota's head. A perfect reflection of the captain shown in Dakota's visor. The captain took one sword and jabbed it into Dakota's helmet. With a blinding flash, Dakota stood back up. He was healed of his wounds, but his cracked, and utterly useless, helmet still revealed his cause of death. Dakota pulled off his helmet and took a fighting stance as the captain's gained their vision. Dakota lunged to and fro, blocking the captains' attacks. Sword against sword clashed, echoing in the chamber. As Dakota fended off one captain, the other sliced a cut into his arm. Dakota spun around and, with a simple gesture of his hands, pushed the captain back. He pushed the second captain back, but just enough to stun him. The warlock took his sword by both hands and shoved it through the captain's stomach. With one down, only the other remained. Dakota blocked the captain's attack again, but this time, the warrior of Light swung his sword around and cut one of the captain's arms off. The captain, howling in pain, snagged Dakota by the throat and threw him against the wall. As he sat with his back to the wall, the captain lunged at him again. Dakota picked up the captain's sword, his was too far out of reach, and made an upward slash. A large cut in the captain's chest oozed with the white blood, the mixture of the Taken substance, and the ether that once kept these Fallen alive. The captain fell to one knee as he placed his hand over his wound. Dakota kicked the Fallen over, took the sword and stabbed it through the captain's shoulder. The sword also got lodged in the stone beneath the captain, pinning it to the ground. Dakota walked to the edge of a cliff. Down below hid the gorgon's Labyrinth. He looked over the edge, and all down the rock walls, purple lights lit up like beacons. Taken snipers took potshots at the Guardian as he floated down. Deep in the maze, a Taken hydra lurked. After an hour of chasing it down, Dakota destroyed it. T.C. flew up beside friend, "I'm detecting -of death- a source of Light," T.C. highlighted a door in the distance, "It's coming from -of death- over there". Dakota found a skeleton hidden within a chamber of the labyrinth. He looked over the remains as T.C. scanned it, "This -of death- was Praedith. He's been dead -of death- for a long time". "A warlock, previously thought as mere myth. The story of Kabr, Praedith, Pahanin, and the Vault will remain a legend. And a mystery. Return home, Guardian," Ikora was monitoring Dakota's progress from the Tower. Rather than climbing out of the Vault, Dakota delved deeper. T.C. appeared once again, "Dakota? What are -of death- you doing?" "Exploring the secrets of the Vault..." Dakota hovered from rock to rock that appeared and disappeared. Dakota made it across safely. Lastly was the triangular door that entered into the Glass Throne. The door opened, revealing a battle from many years ago! Dakota watched as Atheon teleported three guardians. He watched in horror as the hunter stood outside of the time gate. A warlock in gold and white yelled to the hunter, but the warlock's demands were ignored. The gate shut on the hunter that ran in, leaving two warlocks to fend for themselves. A large explosion flung both warlocks towards Dakota. The warlock in gold and white helped the other up, just for both to get killed by snipers. Only the warlock in gold and white self resurrected. He stood up and ran towards the exit. The warlock seemed to stare at the invisible guardian standing in front of him, before continuing to fight the Vex. Dakota was a ghost spectating to these time locked guardians. Dakota tried to restrain his emotions as his nightmares were flashed in front of his eyes.
