Tl;Dr... The hole that the fallen blast into the cosmodrome wall in RoI is pointless, as the fallen already have a way through. And how does this pointless hole into an area they already control help them find SIVA?
It seems pointless. The wall never kept them out. They already control the way through and have successfully used it for years. Also, they pretty much control the Cosmodrome. So what's the point in wasting a crap load of explosives to blast that hole in the wall?
And the lore seems to say that the hole in the wall allows them to find SIVA. But if this is the hole mentioned and SIVA does in fact reside in the Cosmodrome, how does the hole allow them to find SIVA? Why haven't they found it yet? And do they then take SIVA away to the Plaguelands? Because why wouldn't they just turn the cosmodrome into the plaguelands?
Unless of course this is a pointless hole and a second hole was made, allowing the fallen access to somewhere else, in which SIVA is contained.
This bugs me as not only is it an unanswered question, it feels like a plot hole rather than an intentional mystery.
Edit 1: The other thing I can't help but realise is that the hole seems to have a drop inside it. So even if the wall was broken down, there would still be a massive moat in their way.

He had a big load that he could hold. The biggest load to have ever been released.

Bought ROI and now saving up for Collectors edition for Destiny 2.

31 RepliesEdited by PayerJer: 6/21/2016 5:45:48 PMIt's just rehashed content. That's all. Cosmodrome Now with snow! Legitimately, that's the plague lands. It's not a new area, it's just snow. Fukking bungie. https://youtu.be/NW-QhkxBagI He interviewed bungie (Deej) who told him that the new area was a separate patrol area with snow but cosmodrome will still be accessible as it was. Sink it deep haters http://kotaku.com/bungie-answers-and-dodges-our-destiny-rise-of-iron-q-1782354076 More proof.
Schreier: Just so I have this sure—the new Plaguelands patrol zone, that’s going to have some of the old Cosmodrome stuff, just different? So I can go back to The Divide and it’s different in that new patrol? Osborne: Yes.
So, who knows, I might be wrong, but guys, how many times are you going to let bungie tell you "New!" To be mushroom stamped with the same shit? Yeah I'll probably buy it too, but just set expectations accordingly. We all know everything up to the dread naught was cut and repurposed for DLC. Why would this be any different??

Because lord salidin shoulder charged it

3 RepliesYeah seems pointless. But maybe if we play the game and see what happens before posting about it, it will make more sense.

1 ReplyMaybe to attract Mr TorgueSPLOSIONS!!!!!!!!!
-
1 ReplyI think i just found out why, we do know with screenshots from RoI that they took the highest of the 3 balls of the colony ships "tower", so maybe it was to bring it to the plagueland but it couldn't go through the wall so they boomed it for that. What do you guys think ?

Could be to let loose something really big? Maybe

3 RepliesEdited by DirtiestKnave61: 6/23/2016 8:24:36 PMTo move massive amounts of grounds troops quickly and easily. Sure a few squads could make their way through the innards of the wall, but I don't think pikes are gonna make it through and easier for walkers rather than having to take time to climb over.
-
So the plague can spread in larger quantities.
-
Could be a diversion. They blow the wall, and we react to it. Pull defenses from other areas, focus Hunter teams in that region, etc.
-
Michael Bay movies and Destiny have a lot in common. Nice visuals and an incoherent story.

Edited by TheWolfOf4AM: 6/23/2016 7:17:15 AMFallen Devils probably get pissed off that Shaxx's crew will convert another part of their wall into a crucible site, so they fly a skiff full of explosives into the wall, or use a walker to blast a hole into it.
-
2 RepliesStory hasn't been Bungie's strong area for over half a decade.
-
1 ReplyWhy not. Everyone loves explosions.
-
1 ReplyThere needed to be more explosions so they could get Michael bay interested in doing destiny the film.

4 RepliesRandal the vandal got mad over all the nerffs so he took the y3 gally and shot it at the wall

1 ReplyRandall had a badass 4x4 monster truck he wanted to use to tear ass around the Cosmodrome and it would fit through the other door.
-
There's Titans in the wall.
-
Cuz explosions are cool?
-
Well... Have you seen the pics with a giant servitor type ball? The ball came from the cosmodrone, from one of the colony ships. The hole was probably created to move that ball to wherever they took it.
-
That wall makes no sense anyways. 1. They have drop ships that fly everywhere. 2. Did you ever look at it from the tower? It doesn't even connect in several places.
-
They blew a hole in the wall just like the walls of the pentagon, illuminati confirmed

4 RepliesDidn't you hear? The next expansion is directed by Micheal Bay, that's why.
