This subclass has been given the lease attention but has the most lackluster perks/modifiers.
"War Machine" and "Gift of Light" don't get much use because they aren't as helpful or effective as keeping the shield up with unbreakable.
War Machine should emphasize shooting over defense and be quick to activate, reduced strength Force Barrier (50/60%) and trigger Force Barrier on hit should be added.
Gift of Light just needs any incentive it can get. Slap on reduced melee cooldown and call it a day.

A good half of you don't understand what I'm saying and jump to the conclusion that I think these perks are unpowered. That is not what I'm getting at. I feel that these perks are strings but somewhat over shadowed by Force Barrier and could encourage more diversity if given more to them. If I thought War Machine was terrible would I suggest this modification.

As someone who plays a fair amount of Defender, I don't think War Machine is a problem. The degree to which it buffs your reload speed is obscene. I mean that literally. It looks like you are doing something to that shotgun that shouldn't be allowed in a T rated game. The problem with Defenders is the way their neutral talents are set up. Both of the two neutral columns have two of three talents that buff their super [i]and nothing else[/i]. Most other classes have at most only one or two talents that exclusively affect their supers, but the Defender has four. Of the remaining two, one is Iron Harvest, which only effects orb generation. They way to bring Defenders along, in my opinion, is to either combine talents like Bastion and Unbreakable so that something new can be added that improves the Defender's neutral game, or to add supplemental effects to certain talents toward that same end.
