Let me start by saying that I've done everything in Destiny. I started in the beta and fell in love with the game. The first time I did a raid I was amazed and have been ever since. Even after completing possible hundreds of raids, I still love them. I still hold the opinion that Skolas is/was the best boss in Destiny. When done correctly at the max light level at that time.
I've done all the pvp stuff as well. I, like everyone else, started playing a lot of control and got owned by better players. I started figuring out what worked and didn't work and I read a lot on planet destiny back then. It was a blast. We trolled the crucible with 6 bubble Titans. All sunsingers. Everything. I've gone flawless over 30 times and met some awesome people doing so. They have become legend for training me to be better.
But my point... Ok. Pvp is amazing. It's so fun when you get in there and blast everyone, get that lighthouse loot, etc. BUT, the pve and the raids in Destiny is the best gaming experience I have ever had. Sure there is crappy narrative at times. I think TTK took care of that for the most part and we should see some great stuff in ROI. Sure there's always a content drought, which is sad.. But when we get that new pve content...when we get those new challenges and raids...when we get our friends through those things and share those memories...man that's fukin awesome. And that's what keeps me coming back.

I totally agree with you man, leave pvp to superb team shooters (i.e. Overwatch).
-
TL:DR NEVER! Pvp is the reason games last this long.
-
3 RepliesWithout pvp destiny would've died year one.
-
Tl:Dr Funny how opinions work we all got one. And I'm sure many will say something else is better grow up and get over it.
-
Pve is much better, but no new content sucks.
-
Personally, I believe that if Bungie truly decided to drop PvP and make Destiny a purely PvE-oriented experience, they could come up with some amazing ideas and probably add a ton more stuff. I really only use the Crucible as a way to test my guns at this point, I barely run Trials and I just want the Iron Banner gear because it looks cool.
-
3 Repliesnah man raids are boring and time consuming. gets real old real fast. especially when youre me and are only 14 so you have a high voice and cant talk too much or else you'll get kicked lmao
-
Well that's just like, your opinion man.
-
2 RepliesY'all ain't never played good PvP if you didn't play SOCOM. Just sayin.
-
3 RepliesThat's why your most played game mode is crucible, lol? What else do you hate about your life that you do?
-
1 ReplyI respect everyone's preferences but honestly I wouldn't play Destiny if there wasn't a PvP mode
-
Pve doesn't have much to beat
-
Lol pve is not fun anymore in year one I would agree but since ttk came out pvp>pve.
-
4 RepliesYou really provided no evidence that pve is better than pvp except for that you said 'I have more fun running raids than pvp' Which I can hardly understand that reasoning... Pve is literally the same exact enemy mechanics over and over and over again... Maybe you find amusement in stomping on CPUs that can barely fight back? At least in pvp you will NEVER experience the same encounter twice. Every player will act differently. Pvp forces you to adapt to every situation, whereas in pve all you have to do is just find a single strategy and keep doing that same thing over and over again.

1 ReplyIf there wasn't PVP Destiny would have died a LONG time ago. Bungie has made some of the absolute best multiplayer games ever. For someone to say they should remove it from the game is a little asinine. Now Bungie has proven they can make some of the best PVE content as well. Why not have both? I don't understand why people feel the need to pick a side between PVE or PVP.
-
I'm not a big pvp player, but removing it as some suggest is not an option. It's all ready embedded into the game. The only viable option is to separate the two. imo.
-
3 RepliesIdk man PvE is one and done. You play it once then after that it is the exact same carbon copy thing over and over again. Quite monotonous. PvP is always different. Different guardians, different strategies, different styles, different meta,
-
70 RepliesPvP in Destiny doesn't really need to be a thing moving forward. imo, Destiny 2 should remove it almost entirely, except maybe Iron Banner. That way, Bungie can focus on what the whole point of the game is - PvE, killing aliens, exploring new worlds, etc. PvP has never been good in this game.
-
10 RepliesIf you guys honestly have a hard time dealing with nerfs in pve......please get better at the game. Pve is so easy that you dont even need supers lol. You barely need a good gun. Sguuuuuut the fuuuuuuuck up. Pvp is whats keeping this dry ass game alive. Im so sick of cry babies!
-
Completely agree. Both are good/great but pve is better.
-
8 RepliesPvE is fun when it's new content, PvP is good all year round.
-
7 RepliesLet me preface this by saying that I have played destiny almost every day since launch. I would have left a week after HoW if it wasn't for PvP. There isn't enough PvE content in this game to keep it fun. Playing one raid and challenge of elders once a week is not enough content for a large mass of people to be enjoyed for months on end. PvP, while it is the cause of many changes to classes and weapons, you cannot deny the amount of content that is held in the PvP playlists. There are two events, a plethora of PvP maps, and multiple modes, along with rotating playlists like mayhem and inferno. Without PvP, many of the more prominent members of the community would have dropped this game, and it is very clear that the reason this game is so popular on twitch is because of PvP players like Real Krafty, Luminosity, and Mtashed. The community of this game has rallied behind PvP, hosting many tournaments and events. You may think that PvE is better than PvP, but you can't disagree that PvP is a massive reason for this game's longevity.
