Does chlorine act as a spermicide?
If I have sex in a pool, will the chlorinated water kill my sperm and thus not require me to wear a rubber?

Possibly, but I wouldn't risk it. I don't necessarily know that the concentration of chlorine in the pool is high enough to get the job done. [Edited on 03.07.2010 3:12 PM PST]

Another point to remember is that chlorine and other acidic chemicals can cause cervix and other internal genital cancer in women even at relatively low concentrations and amounts.

You'd be amazed how many people I've had to stop -blam!- in the pool (I'm a sometime lifeguard). At least one pair every year. Pools don't have the concentration of chlorine necessary to be a effective spermicide.

Drain Cleaner Paint Thinner Nail Polish Remover almost all Acids many Bases Lit Thermite Anti-Freeze and many more. try mixing them for a more potent birth control. Assuming you're asking a serious question... Technically, yes. chlorine will kill sperm. But exactly how much chlorine do you think will make it's way into her? I wouldn't consider it to be a very effective choice.

I'm not quite sure, but chemicals in the pool, and sex wouldn't be good for the woman. I honestly think that is a stupid idea though. Wear a condom or have another form of contraceptive.
