For those that consider the previous 'changes' to sniping as being 'touched' by the balance or nerf hammers you are not a person who has a strong grip on reality.
The lack of an effective flinch mechanic (or even the popular descope ideas) during a face melting is still a major problem.
Quick scoping seems to have gone down but it's still possible.
Snipers being anyone's most used weapon (by stats) is the biggest red flag that there's a problem.
Thanks for continually missing this one Bungie.
Edit: I know there is flinch, it's just ineffective in its current implementation.
Edit2: adding some clarifications
I agree that primaries are why you can't challenge a sniper effectively. However it is way beyond the point where they can re-buff them. It would break do many other things at this point.
I don't want a weapon nerf. Flinch is currently inadequate to allow proper challenge of snipers in the medium ranges where those other weapons should be more effective AND snipers should be less. It's the flinch mechanic that needs to be adjusted.
Because of this snipers are effective in almost all ranges except the closest. This goes against Bungie's standing on weapons overlapping too much into other weapon ranges.
"Shotguns are cheaper" argument is old and lame. And the same "watch your corners" argument can apply to getting killed by those too. It's a much higher risk activity then sniping is.
