The field scout nerf still takes the cake for most "I have no words for this stupidity" nerf on weapon perks for me. But I 125% agree with your post

  • Cripes the field scout change still pisses me off. It made so many weapons good, made others better. 42 round Time on Target pulse rifle, 60 round Deviant Gravity A, 56 round Hard Light, 6 rounds for Patience and Time...

  • Because a perk that let you run around with 100 rounds with a single heavy drop and corrective measure wasn't at all broken.

    Not for PvE no. There's plenty of targets to shoot at, and you need all the bullets you can get. They [b][i]could[/i][/b] have only adjusted it for PvP...but they were too lazy.

  • In it's prime Field Scout was the only viable MG perk due to how much more killing potential it offered in both PvE and PvP. If you want more bullets in PvE there are perks for that, heck just go and get Quillums Terminus, it has a great inventory stat and extended magazine.

  • No I don't see the problem. Destiny's MGs have always felt like half assed machine guns. Field scout made them feel like proper machine guns. They're supposed to rip through enemies and also have boatloads of ammo. Bungie screwed them up and field scout fixed their mistakes. The perk was not the problem, the guns were the problem if they required a perk like that to become what they were supposed to be.

    In comparison to other heavies. You give up a stability or other perk for that. They could have just brought the other lmgs to carry the same amount of ammo, or just nerfed the lmgs and not snipers, primaries, etc. Like It was said above, it's easier to just kill field scout full stop than to balance it

  • With Corrective Measure you could pick Field Scout or Perfect Balance, it also had persistence and surplus. In any game mode it was a monster and the nerfs to both surplus and field scout were fully justified due to this MGs flawless performance across all game modes.
