I'm all with you on this one. I'm tired of the nerfs, especially the PVP nerfs which also hit hard in PVE. I can't take this crap anymore and I know that the new DLC will do nothing to fix the over-arching philosophy of the Bungie Dev's, so ultimately I'm going to just retire my guardians tonight and play other games. Destiny has been fun, some eras more than others (COUGH- Y1-COUGH) but it's time to put it down and give it a rest.

  • You do realize that almost every change they've made either really doesn't impact PVE....or is a net BUFF for PvE??

  • Not necessarily true. The lack of a sticky grenade makes gunslinger less useful in Hard Oryx Challenge and also reduces your ability to deal with shielded cabal. This comes from your now inability to stick enemies with the tripmine grenade, but it also comes from the fact that they reduced the damage of the grenade by 3% (unless I am wrong, I did read the changes in a hurry). The sticky grenade was really useful for Oryx because it bought you a "free" stagger when you had to reload your sniper rifle, ensuring that your ogre doesn't move. Now, I will have to use a blade dancer in order to get the same effect (maybe, depending on nade damage), but the blade dancer isn't useful in the echo phase like Gunslinger was (with Celestial Nighthawk) or the Nightstalker. Which is just stupid IMO. I'm basically forced to play a class, which I personally don't like, because its the only class with a stick grenade. The sticky grenade also was great for dealing with shield-using cabal. One stick and it killed them outright or staggered them and forced them to drop their shield, allowing you to 1 shot them or finish them off quickly. To be fair, I haven't had a chance to play with the new changes but I don't really plan on trying them. More based on principal than on substance. This amounts to more PVE nerfs for the sake of PVP IMO. And I can't continue to support this game when they continue this pattern of blanket nerfs for the sake of PVP. I can only handle so much crap, and this is my limit.

  • The damage was nerfed, you did not read it wrong. Brings damage in PvP down to 188.

  • Why should Hunters be a privileged class and have TWO attachable grenades? If I want to have a sticky grenade as a warlock I have to play as a Sunsinger. As for dealing with shielded enemies that why you have AOE grenades, and elemental damage for your special and heavy weapons. I'm sorry that the game took away your Easy Button. In exchange the game gave you a MUCH more powerful super.

  • Titans also have two sticky grenades. I don't see you bitching about them. It wasn't about them being a privileged class, it was about them nerfing the ONE effective grenade hunters DO have. And I am certainly NOT upset about the loss of an "easy" button because tripmine grenade is a double edged sword. It could kill you as often as it killed your opponents. That said, Tripmine was used because it was literally the only good grenade of the subclass. I used Gunslinger because I've been using gunslinger on my hunter since the Beta days and it's my favorite subclass. None of the other grenades are even comparable to tripmine. They COULD have fixed this by buffing the other grenades, but then they nerfed the utility of the tripmine grenade too which was needless and stupid IMO. You make some great posts on this forum, but to go straight to the "your just salty because blah blah blah" is really unbecoming of/on you. Some people legitimately love certain subclasses and have used them in spite of their weaknesses and strengths throughout the years. This particular nerf makes no sense and it frustrates me because its just another PVE effecting nerf for the sake of PVP.

Because spike greandes don't injure the person they are attached to, if they detonate. Which is why people only use them for zone control, and they are a fairly simple matter to see and avoid. If I can't, then I've screwed up. They don't use the chaos of a firefight to camouflage its being thrown at you...and you can't mistake it being thrown at you for a throwing knife. Bottomline the use of Tripmines like that in PvP is cheap and has been a Long-standing peave of mine. I've never accused them of being OP, but you're not going to get any sympathy from me for the changes and how they'll affect Crucible play. As for how those changes will impact PVE play.....simple adjustment. Just throw it at the feet of enemies that move predictably. Use the more powerful swarm grenade you've been given for enemies----like Cabal Centurions----that move more unpredictably. Unti---if and when---Bungie sees fit to separate the weapon systems, PvE players are going to have to deal with sharing the weapon system with PvP players. But the last two patches, Bungie has clearly been bending over backwards to try to minimize the impact of any nerfs on PvE play. ...and not being able to stick a trip mine to a target any more is about as benign as they come. as far as PVE changes...and will make playing gaisnt them in the Crucible a LOT less frustrating.

  • Perhaps. The new DLC would probably fix that- for a while. What it won't fix is the poor leadership which is STILL leading the development of the game. I'm looking at you, Jon Wisniewski, Luke "Asshat" Smith, and Merrill Sage, just to name a few. Pete Parsons, if I were you, I would fire all three of these dudes right now.
