So I was reading the "This Week At Bungie" and something hit me. There was the part that said, "The paths of current and old gen will split in August and will run parallel to one another." This confused me because it implies that one doesn't just end but they split and leep going individually in different directions (Think Assassin's Creed Rogue v Unity). RoI comes out in September, which meant that something had to be happening in August to diverge the generations. I wracked my mind of what that could be. SRL? Iron Banner? Queen's Wrath? Then I realized, what was something significant that would require little energy or money? Something big that Bungie already had at their disposal that people would enjoy. How about two unused raids?
What if in August, to give the Last Gen one last ride and to get current gen hyped, they released VoG and CE up to current (or higher) level? Maybe even add those exotics they time gated like Shinobu's Vow or those Warlock boots? It would make sense. What do you guys think?

Someone slap this idiot

The old raids served their purpose, lived out their lifespan. I was there for it, and I really don't care to go back and spend the majority of my gaming time running raids that I already ran the shit out of. If people really enjoyed them so bad they would be running them right now regardless of reward, because there is not much reason to run anything for rewards right now.

You had a brain cell split in two different directions. One was lost and the other was looking for it.
-
No in august a patch will hits that will keep last gen destiny players stuck with what we have now forever. Also anyone who plays on ps3 and ps4 will have their shared account split so that their current gen characters will progress in their legend and their last gen characters stay in ttk loop forever.
-
Interesting, I don't think it'll be SRL, Iron banner or any other event like that because why would Bungie stop giving last gen those events since they already existed on them. I think it could be a Summer update actually.
-
I think you're just overthinking it. If we're looking at the same part of that article, they said "after August" so I believe they just mean September i.e. When the dlc comes out
-
August is the last month you can transfer your characters from old gen

Edited by Digit eYEz: 6/11/2016 4:32:00 PMThe reason they don't is because of those that did not buy TTK. If they updated it, they would not have access to it. It is pre-TTK endgame and will stay that way. Edit: Then again, they could make a very hard mode with last gen out of the way. That way non-ttkers still have access.

Nope. Dont need to waste anymore time or money or content on old consoles...full sails ahead
-
They will never bring back the old raids
-
I'd like to play VoG and CE in last gen, updated. We deserve it. Well, we'll see.
-
You're overthinking it. They don't like us that much.
-
That would make me very happy and my clan
-
They're saying you will no longer be able to use the same characters on both old gen and current gen versions of the game. So you can't get rise of iron gear for the ps4, then load that character on your PS3.
-
Sure. We're going to stop supporting last gen. Let's spend thousands of man hours working on something we're going to give them for free instead of working on the next expansion that's going to make us money. Seems possible. Scratch that; it's exactly how it will be!
-
I agree.

That's what I was thinking as well. It seems a bit unlikely, but you never know.
-
Well September's the following month and they usually do a big update before new content drops. So my guess is that they'll drop an update in August to prep everything and completely sever ties with old gen.
-
No, old gen is apparently being left behind. That's the separation.
