The plague zone sounds like a higher difficulty than normal area where the mutants amass. I assume you'll need PPG to survive but knowing bungie you won't. It's basically like walking into the basement with the yellow hive at level 15. You can see their level but you don't do a lot of damage.

Plague zone is probably just a patrol area with, indeed, higher difficulty. I think we will be done with the plague zone pretty quick. I am more interested in what the new social area will bring

Probably Mercury like speculated when trials first came out. If not there then probably somewhere in the dreadnought since its, lore wise, serving no purpose now. And if all else fails, some half assed little area like the reef.
