Best strength weapon for the first Dark Souls?
So I'm nearing the end of my first playthrough of the first Dark Souls and I made a strength character. I'd like to use a boss soul to make a cool weapon but I haven't come across anything that's good for strength.
If boss weapons aren't worth it for a strength build, what's a good normal weapon to upgrade? Also, should I go with an element path like fire or lightening? Thanks!

The gargoyle halberd, you need to two hand this weapon for it be viable. It is the biggest bang for the buck. Low stat requirements and gets better if you make it a chaos weapon, scales with your humanity. Like I said, just alternative thought. Let's you put stat points elsewhere, such as end. Sorry I didn't read your post more carefully. I guess you could try my suggestion for another toon.

5 RepliesThe Demon's Great Axe has an A rank in strength scaling and can be acquired fairly easily from Quelaag's Domain. Upgraded to +15, it'll net you over six hundred in attack rating if you have around sixty in strength. It'll also change to an S rank scaling. I finished my first play through with it and it still excels in NG+. Just be sure to hog as much poise as possible.

1 ReplyZwihander. Don't bother with infusions if you are going str. Get it to +10 and it will out damage most weapons.
