I mean he should have them, they are far more powerful than the fallen and cabal. So why not just let them go and kick our ass? What about the emperor oryx took ? The bird man.

Wasn't it an empress?

9 RepliesWhy didn't Oryx take more Ogres, or Colossuses, or Captains? (seen as they could blind the entire galaxy) Simple. Too much effort for Bungie to program
-
6 RepliesBecause that would require Bungie to put in more effort than a re-skin of old enemies.

You're speaking gobbledygook... ~ Nyahh! =^,.,^=

1 ReplyWell, considering how old Oryx and the Ecumene are, it's possible that most if not all of the Take Ecumene were wiped out over a long period of time. And, whether it was for game purposes or not, Oryx seems to have a limit on how many Taken he can summon at once. How many he can summon at once depends on how powerful they were before being Taken and how much power he still had. We must also remember that when we killed Crota, we severed most, if not all, of the tithe connecting Crota's forces to Oryx, which weakened him by a lot. Then we get to Regicide, where we weakened him even more after killing his physical form. Furthering it into the Raid, we slayed the Warpriest, Golgoroth, and his daughters, which severed an insurmountable amount of the tithe he had. With so much of his tithe gone now, he was in a state where Guardians could permanently kill him. He was never fighting at his full power, even during the Raid, because we had drained him so much that he could only use what power we hadn't destroyed. Now going back to Taken Ecumene, it would have probably took to much energy to summon them in order to kill us considering how weakened he was the entire time. Even if he could summon any to fight, they would've been so scarce that we could eliminate them faster than he could summon. Adding in the first statement I mentioned, it's highly probable that adding Taken Ecumene (if any) would not have made the outcome change by much. If the Taken Ecumene would've made any difference, it would have been during the final battle in Fear's Embrace, and that's only if you solo'd it prior to the April Update.

6 RepliesWhy didn't Oryx just spawn all 16 ogres and 16 knights at once? Why didn't Oryx have five ships park above the map and spam us with cannon fire? Etc The answer, "so we can beat him."
-
2 RepliesThe ecumene were wiped from existence entirely when they were defeated in some other universe. I haven't read the books of sorrow for a while, so i may have missed something...
-
1 ReplyCause we'd get our asses kicked if he did
-
3 RepliesGame balance and resources. Introducing the Taken already presented a dozen different enemy mechanics, so adding a completely new race would hace stretched resources for the expansion.
-
12 RepliesI suspect he can only "take" them for a certain period of time before their original minds begin seeping back in, as we've seen with Malok and one of the taken Cabal(forget the name) And the more distinct their will is from his, the less power he gains with each kill via sword logic. So it would be more efficient to dump his Taken arsenal after each invasion, so he doesn't have to deal with possible traitors and he can keep all the Tithe for himself.

5 Replies1. Gameplay limitations, probably didn't have any way to effectively implement them, and unfamiliar to us, etc. 2. Oryx came to us as a grieving father, not a conqueror. He most likely called together everything he had on a short notice, and rushed to face us, assuming he could Take an army while he was here. He's also weaker because we killed Crota, a huge part of his tithing system.

1 ReplyThey are totally wiped out though.

5 RepliesI asked muzzy that I think I know I asked someone Anyone person replied be cuz gameplay reasons

15 RepliesEver watch Ajin? I assume he can have them for so long as they start to deteriorate after spending so long in endless torment.
-
1 ReplyTwo words: Gameplay balance. The Taishibethi Emperor seems to have been powerful enough to send her own species into extinction. Thus, we only faced the weaker Taken.
-
7 RepliesHow do you know they are more powerful and cabal?
