Talisa was a Warlock. She knew the Universe was defined by causal forces. One of these forces was the law of conservation. Something is taken, something is given. She killed the Fallen, and the refugee streams felt safer. Balance. She destroyed the Cabal and the city was saved another day of marching treads. Equilibrium. She burned the Hive, and the howling and the nightmares abated....temporarily. Counterpoise. But then she found the Vex. They were acausal. They skipped time. They repeated death after death. They defied everything she believed. Then she fought that Minotaur. It charged her when she was out on all guns. Her palm smashed it's torch hammer, drawing away full of purple void. She felt a rush of energy. She had put all her strength into that attack, but she was stronger. The Minotaur lay dead, deactivated and drained. Then she remembered. It was diminished and she was exalted. It was broken and she was made powerful. The equation balanced thus.
