After a fireteam of six brave guardians cleared out the Vault of Glass,
a camp was set up deep within the vault after getting approval from Ikora Rey.
This site was manned by a secret society of Warlocks, the Inanis Custodibus,
an organization dedicated to the recovery of Golden Age artifacts and investigation
of the void. One man among the group was named Scha. Scha was a new recruit to
the society and this trip was his first expedition with them.
On the last day of the Expedition, Scha went out to explore before the
group was going to leave back for the tower. Taking only his wits and armor, he
set out towards the back of the gargantuan vault, where the six guardians he has
heard of fought fearlessly and defeated the chaotic, remorseless Vex creation,
Atheon, Time's Conflux.
On his journey to the site, he took a short break to sit
and take in his surroundings. While looking around, he noticed something quite
peculiar about the wall towards the west side of the room he was in. Upon closer
inspection, he there was an opening, a small hole that that was too large for a
titan, but with his small frame he could easily crawl through. Scha doubled down
and began trudging his way through the opening, to find himself inside of a very
compact room.
In this room, he quickly noticed the skeleton of a human with
a most ornate and alluring vestment on its body. Scha moved closer to it, and
the armor seemed to fluctuate and grow luminescent as he came closer, almost
sensing his soul, hs light. Scha began to fear that he should not take it, under
the perception that it could be a trap and collapse the room, and what would
the others think of him wandering off, to come back with a relic that he handled
without the proper gear?
Scha snatched the buckle off of the chest piece, shoving it into his pocket to
investigate when he returned to the tower. He quickly dove down and crawled back
through the hole, and hastily made his was back to the camp.
With his return to the tower, Scha made for his dormitory room, where he began to
inspect the buckle, and admired the engravement work done on the front, but as
he turned it around, he began to feel curious and worried. Scrawled on the back,
likely scratched on there by the guardian he took it from was a message. This message
read, "YOU WILL DREAM OF TEETH AND NOTHING ELSE." To calm his nerves he set it down
on the table and went to take a nap to ease his mind and relax before he would
type up his report.
As he drifted into sleep, there was a deep, menacing hunger that developed
in his head, a silent, foul and vile thought that pulled him in farther and farther.
The void... it called out to Scha...
He awoke with sweat over his face and knew what he had to do.
During the night when the port was quiet, he took his ship back to Venus to get
to the Vault, going as quickly as he could. Upon arrival he sped to the room he once
was at and took the vest but forgetting what he feared it to be. A trap.
Once he put on the Vest he crawled out of the room, to find the once overgrown Vex
statues of Praetorians lighting up a fiery, wretched red. Armed with no weapon, he
began to run, but something stopped him. Scha turned around to face the Praetorians
and felt the void running through him, the power of it screaming through his veins,
filling him with the hunger he dreamt of. In that moment, he channeled all of it
outwards, and the Vex that had been steps from killing him were swallowed whole by the
Void he conjured, taken to some distant dimension.
Scha then knew. He knew why this was left in that room. Why there was someone in
it. Why it could not be left in the hands of someone unworthy.
From that day, Scha guarded the armor with his life, dedicating himself to protecting
it from those who would use it. He could not let it misguide the hopes of others away from
helping, to harming. He also began his quest, the search for more relics similar to this one, so that it can eventually be quenched of its hunger.
Alright, this was my next go at some Fictional Lore for an exotic armor piece. Hope you enjoyed reading it!

Nice job again dude! I've been thinking about this one: Peregrine Greaves "Victory from on high" A lowly guardian rests near the fields of the Mothyards. He thought about how the future of humanity would be. Would they survive? Or would they be wiped out by the darkness? He couldn't know He stood up, not armed with a gun. Or even arms. He had learned to use his legs as a weapon rather than his fists. And with his might and knack for forging armor, he made himself a new set of leggings. A new set of weapons. "I will not bear the burden of using my fists as a weapon, for I have found a better solution." He said to himself. "I will stand victorious against the darkness." He smirked "A victory, from in high."

4 RepliesI thought the voidfang vestments were of ahamkara origins like the skull and claws, hence the relation to void and the teeth thing.
