What's the connection between the Black Garden and the Vault of Glass?

I was really interested in the last line of The Black Garden grimoire card that reads: "Look into the Vault, Guardian, for it is said to hold powers the Progeny were meant to bring forth." From the Sol Progeny card, here is Ikora's take on the Progeny: "I believe the three Axis Minds found in proximity to the abomination were Vex machines built to serve as vessels for this power: a way to extend its reach across space and time, binding it to the Vex, and the Vex to it." And lastly, Ikora mentions this in the A Rising Tide card: "I sense a pattern here - a connection between this Vex outbreak, the Black Garden, and the Vault of Glass...I need to know more." The purpose of the Progeny seems to be vessels for the Darkness (btw, still don't know what the Darkness is or if that is in fact what was at the Heart of the Black Garden), and I'm not sure what the purpose of the Vault of Glass is (I know there are a ton of posts about it but I haven't been convinced and there may not be a singular purpose), but it seems apparent that Atheon, Time's Conflux plays(ed?) a major role and logically the Vault's purpose(s) will lie with the fact that time has some kind of convergence here. So, there's enough references connecting the two in the grimoire for me to wonder what the connection is. Is the Speaker in the first source simply saying the Darkness is in the Vault? Or some other "powers?" Were the Vex planning on using the Vault to spread the Darkness (through vessels) into the past and the future? And would this help explain why Ikora believes the Progeny were meant to tie the Vex to the power at the Heart and that power to the Vex? Was there some other plan in place connecting the Progeny to the Vault where the Progeny were meant to be keys to open something or were sent to retrieve something (the "powers")? Were they meant to extend the ontological capacities and powers of the Vault to the universe itself? Not even just for this specifically, but some Guardian should grab the Speaker by the collar and shake some answers out of him. That dude...

    • Summary of the vex: The traveler created the black garden (before it was evil) for a purpose that isnt entirely known. The traveler then created the vex to be the gardeners. Then eventually the darkness over took the garden and turned the vex evil.... thats the basic start of the progeny and the heart of the black garden. Eventually the vex ventured out of the garden and joined the darkness in its crusade to destroy the traveler and devour all light. As for the vault: The vault is the vex's place to experiment with time. It's the only place where they have successfully altered it.

What we fought in the Black Garden was a baby Ahamkara that was stolen from Oryx's throne. Savathun, Oryx's sister, tricked Crota into opening a portal in Oryx's throne room, the Vex came flooding in, and were lead by a mind called Quria, Blade Transform. They recognized that the power of Oryx and his throne world far surpassed their own, and quickly deduced sword logic. Before they were wiped out by Oryx, they got with away a baby worm. Based on what they experienced in Oryx's throne world, one subset of the Vex was entirely devoted to worship the worm (the Vex we see in the black garden). This gave the Vex some of the paracasual abilities available to the hive. The Vault of Glass was a Vex attempt at creating a Hive throne world, this is why they have their frightening abilities in the vault, and why the power is not manifested outside of it.

        • So what I know is that (this can be entirely false you can't trust the internet) in the final mission for the vanilla we kill the bosses one by one. If they all 3 were able to spawn at the same time (spawn is probably the not right word for this) Vex would have been able to achieve everything they wanted by controlling space and time completely and achieve the victory no matter what happens

          • So one of the most widely-accepted theories on the Vault is that it's a Vex attempt at recreating a Hive Throne World. The Black Garden seems to be the result of the Vex mimicking the Hive's worship of the Darkness through killing and passing power up the chain of command, which is pretty central to Hive society. Knowledge of both Hive Throne Worlds and an understanding of their power-through-worship was passed onto the wider Vex consciousness by Quria, Blade Transform, following its failed invasion of Oryx's Throne. So that's one link for you.
