Here is a challenge of mine. Create an exotic weapon of your own custom design and give me its backstory. I would prefer it if you keep it original (so nothing like Price of Exile, that has already been done) and I want to know what you guys are thinking.
There are so many cool ideas, but remember I would like to read YOUR lore too, not just perks :D

The strongest of the Kells of old. He stood before the night and fell. He was once a force of resistance against the might of the taken King. His day has ended, but now yours dawns. Not Serious: Salt Rifle Exotic perk 1: Tear Jerker- Hits cause enemies to become emotionally unstable. Exotic perk 2: Cry Me a River- Kills increase Damage and fire rate. Exotic perk 3: Raining Salt- Kills cause enemies to turn into Salt and erase their game.

Find a prototype in the mission "Gravity" Kill 100 enemies for Banshee so he can fine-tune it. Turn in and wait till arms day. New prototype. Get 10 kills in the crucible Turn in. In patrol, go into Rasputin's bunker via activating 6 panels in 1:30 sec. Fight through and kill ultra captain to download schematics. Turn in Next arms day Quest complete.

Exotic perk: [b][u]Implosive Gravity[/u][/b] Grants the Shatter node for Voidwalker. (Note: You can pair this with the Vortex node (though they will have smaller radius')) Description reads: "[i]As you watch him turn to dust, the memories of the fathers, Yüli and Farér , fade away....-Haste of The Grotein Battle"[/i] Backstory: The helmet was forged by Toland in hopes of passing through the rifts into the ascendant realm. As he clawed his way through a gate to the plains of the hive, the helmet was shattered and left at the rift for Ikora to find in her search for him. In the memory of her once good friend, she reconstructed it with her own power, turning the helmet into a mask type Amour. Grimoire reads; "[i]Toland... Friend... We once stood as equals... Until the Hive corrupted you... I reached out my hand... And I felt the cold shade of your hand pull me in. You would not let go... So I had to severe our connection. Your deeds have not been forgotten. With this puzzle you have left me. I will create something for a new Paladin to rise against. I hold you up to it. Let us see how you endeavor our creation...[/i] Design: Helmet has a very Spike-Like design. There are shards of blue crystals hover just above the Helmet, that will follow the players movements and when while super charged, the crystals will turn a bright Yellow while seemingly pulsating a wave of energy through them.

Hidden Perk - Firefly. Ballistics - Aggressive, Smooth and Field Choke. First Perk - Counterbalance. Stat Perks - Perfect Balance, Hammer Forged and High Calibre Rounds. Second Perk - Particle Accelerator (Precision kills increase RoF and return ammo to magazine). Aesthetics - Gun is a modified Cabal slug thrower (decidedly modded by a Psion leader, perhaps a Raid boss). Slug velocity has been increased to better counter human opponents. Backstory - From their initial failings to stop Holborn's Host to their catastrophic attack on the Dreadnaught, it has become clear to the Cabal that the greatest threats to their operations within the Solar System are the Light-wielding Guardians. A weapon already designed with modding in mind, a humble Slug Thrower has, under the guidance of a skilled Psion gunsmith, been engineered to better combat the hordes of Thralls and teams of Guardians so disruptive of Cabal procedure. It provides personal heavy ordinance with enough firepower to bring an adversary down while advanced Cabal auto-loaders help to keep soldiers ready for when they inevitably return.

Banshee-44 The first step in getting Swift Buisness, is finding blueprints for a "Temporal Accelerator" which will spawn randomly after killing a certain number of high ranking enemies are killed. Once you have this take it to Banshee-44, who will give you a list of resources and relic technologies needed to be recover to construct the blueprints. Then 3 legendary hand cannons will need to be dismantled to create a frame for the weapon's finishing touch.[/spoiler]

Then one day I found out why. There was a rushing sound that came out of the sky followed by a big boom. A Fallen keach warped in disgorging a Skiff before re-entering warp. The Skiff came to a hover and as 5 Fallen got ready to drop He cam out of the root cellar. His Titan Armor Bright in the sun light. the Scout Rifle Cracked twice for each of the Fallen on the Skiffs drop arm and all 5 fell headless. then 6 more Fallen appeared as he reloaded. A Again two shots for every Fallen and again 6 headless body's . The 4 more Fallen appeared and dropped to the ground A Captain and 3 Vandles. 12 shots and 3 dead Vandles later. His hands were a blur as he reloaded the Scout Rifle. The Captain tried to sidestep the incoming shots but the Scout move on its own it seemed 16 shots hit the Captain before both of them clashed. The Fallen Captain grabbed for the Scout Rifle. he smashed his helmet into the Fallen's face and slowly said "Do. Not. Touch." then the Captain burst into flames and screamed in pain and agony as it died.

Final round is violently explosive and can restore allies' health. Lore: Found in the Dune Seas of the Saharan Solar Complex. She gave it purpose anew by slaying the House of Winds' scavengers. Enhanced with Golden Age technology, it was gifted to an old crippled Exo in dire need of assistance. She was slain during a great battle, but never forgotten. No one knows what happened to the Exo, but some say he left the worlds of our system to find solace around other stars. The Fallen would have stripped him clean and left his husk to be consumed by the shifting sands. She saved him, but he couldn't save her. It gnawed at him. In his vengeful wrath he crafted this rifle, and turned it loose upon the House of Winds. After their Kell was slain he set it to self destruct, sending the Ketch into the sands a smoking ruin. Lore: A master machinist and gun enthusiast, she cobbled this together from a variety of sources. Fallen, Vex, Cabal, nothing was to complex or difficult to work with for her. It wasn't until she lost her fireteam to the House of Winds that she painted it the color of her shop's banner, and set out into the Dune Seas to find one of the last Ahamkara. She still searches even now, hoping to be granted a single wish.[/spoiler]

I personally feel like those "exotic" perks that just buff some stats after you do something are really boring and not exotic. Like Fabian strategy's or Boolean Gemini's perks, as opposed to perks like that of Gjallarhorn, Thorn, And the three exotic swords.

[b]Skill Tree[/b] 1st column: ballistics (CQC, Aggressive, etc.) 1st perk: Hidden Hand 2nd column: Increased Range/reduced stability, increased stability/reduced range, slightly increased impact, lower magazine. Exotic perk: "Nerves of [i]Stalin[/i]" Precision damage is significantly increased. Precision kills give increased stability and damage for a short time. Can be stacked [b]Story/Reasoning[/b] [spoiler] This gun is part of an exotic quest that involves you cooperating with Häkke through Shaxx to improve the Khvostov 7G-02. No between there's a legendary version called "Vladamir L6-O2" that has zen moment instead of "Nerves of [i]Stalin[/i]" (the joke here is that "Stalin" is Russian for "Steel") The reason for this gun's perks is that this gun will have below-average stability, making head shots a bit difficult unless fires semi-auto. It'll also have about 45-60 range (above-average) This is because 1. The current Khvostov has the same fire rate but less impact than the SUROS ARI-45, so maybe we can keep this but improve the precision shots to compensate. 2. In real life (something that both the Khvostov and Häkke try to make nods to), most engagements with assault rifles actually have the rifles fired semi-auto because they're long-range. Check out the documentary "Restrepo". 3. In real life most rifles with any bullet greater than or equal to 5.56 will have considerable recoil (I mean, not exactly unbearable but enough to make just holding down the trigger in full-auto mode a bad time for those who like precision). Believe me, recoil can't be controlled by just pulling the gun down. [/spoiler] What do you guys think? Communism?

Exotic perk: [i]Now I am Become Death[/i] Fires in a three-round burst, and a kill with the final round in a magazine grants three extra bullets in the magazine that do bonus damage. Can stack, so consistently killing with the last shot can lead to an endless magazine.

Rate of fire: 300 Impact: 0.5 Range: 22 Stability: 50 Reload: 60 Magazine: 100 Reserve total fill: 500 Primary perks: - Kinetic damage - Glass half full (raises impact from 0.5 to 1) Selectable perks: -lightweight -Hidden hand -Counterbalance Exotic perk: -Cyclopes fall: After firing on an an enemy for 20 shots, they are blinded and have a small chance to teleport randomly in any direction (3-5 feet away) Grimoire: The last known location of the ship transporting this weapon was off the southeast coast of North America. Apparently, they were caught in a severe lightning storm and sank. Later that year, this weapon was found in a crate one hundred miles up the coastline from where the ship sank. It had many parts welded together that shouldn't have been, and after an X-ray examination, all of the internal workings were fused together in a chaotic function. Researchers still have no idea how it fires.

Random chance for motes of light to be created upon kills. Sword activation randomly activates "blessing of the traveler". Using 5 motes of light grants over shield, agility increased, recovery increased and blinding aoe flash.
