I know there are a lot so let's do it like this. I will start us with a number one. If you disagree rewrite number one. Then add a second best, if the next person agrees they put the 3rd best and so on. One character per person until we hit all of them. You get to overrule only the previous suggestion if you disagree and then add the next one in the order
So my number one (and this will likely get overruled since I'm new) is...
1. Tracer
PS if your philosophy is good.in different situations write in the order of who you do the best with most consistently then.
Edit: it seems no one can read. Trust me I know you can't actually rank how good they are but just at least rank how good you play with each. It's just to give people an idea if what is a good idea to invest time in. For instance whenever I've seen a list like this Zenyatta has been dead last on almost all. Very hard to play and needs a buff so if youre new try him later on

Best: Winston. Worst: Everyone else.

1 ReplyThey can't be ranked. Every hero is good in certain situations. Sure, certain characters have the upper hand against another, but neither one is better.

From a competitive standpoint, Lucio Mccree Winston Mercy Reinhardt Tracer Widow Soldier 76 Zarya Symettra Everyone else.

10 RepliesIn terms of "good" video game development — Tracer, Mei, and McCree should all place at the very bottom of that list. Tracer: "Let's spam blink around the map until somebody is forced to switch to Roadhog to kill me." "I've taken damage? Never mind, one button/ key press will solve this." Mei: "Hey, look, I can literally freeze everybody in the game and kill them in two seconds!" "What's this, somebody is about to kill me? I'll just sit in this ice cube and regen health 'til my team turns up and saves me." McCree: *FLASHBANG* *SPAM THE HAMMER* *FLASHBANG* *SPAM THE HAMMER* *FLASHBANG* *SPAM THE HAMMER*

1 ReplyYou can't rank heroes as they all do specialise in doing different things and are bad at doing others but I am having the most fun as junkrat

2 RepliesI litterly saw a guy who made a account named calvarys here (not full name ) He has 3 trophies so he definetly made it just for that He only plays tracer every match even on defense

You ant even rank them. They all play differently and are strong in different areas.
-
1. Tracer (main) 2. Tobjorn (defending) 3. Mccree 4. Zenyatta 5. Reinhardt Tracer is a fun yet difficult Hero to master. You got to pop behind people, strategically pick people off, pester the enemy team. Her Ultimate is devastating is the team is grouped up.
-
You can't really rank them from best to worst. They are all situationally good and can counter or be countered by other heroes.

Edited by Psychic Donuts: 5/31/2016 10:27:23 PMYou can't rank them as they are all equally strong in different scenarios.

7 RepliesEdited by ash: 5/31/2016 12:39:43 PMMcCree is the most overpowered right now due to his flashbang and double fanhammer combo which is not only useful for dealing with pesky Tracers, but can tear through Tanks. Widowmaker is also very useful for her wallhack Ultimate. Reinhardt I wouldn't call overpowered but is certainly the best tank for payload pushing, while Winston is great for Control. Lucio is a great support character for his speed boost, and if you have a Mercy to make up for his weaknesses you can have a potent combo so long as you have enough damage output on your team. Underpowered... DVa is useless and just gives the enemy team free Ultimate charge since she's a massive target with no decent shielding and a terrible Ultimate ability. Bastion and Torbjorn get shredded pretty quickly by a co-ordinated team. Zenyatta can be great with his Discord orb if he's on a good team and played by someone with amazing aim, but I feel he has too little health and his heal is a bit weak to be a main support and Lucio is a better off-support. Junkrat can be good but he can also be a huge hindrance if he's just giving the enemy team free Ultimate with his grenade spam, definitely switch off Junkrat if the enemy has a hero like Pharah that can't be hit. The heroes I feel are in a good place right now, where you're not stupid to pick them (so long as you have the rest of your team playing Lucio, Mercy, Reinhardt, and at least one McCree) are Zarya (great for her Ultimate combo potential and can do tons of damage if played well), Roadhog (good for picking off players with his hook), Pharah (good for taking out Junkrats, Zaryas and her Ultimate is great), Reaper (good Ultimate and good flanker), Tracer (can be great, if played well, to pick off enemy Supports or defence heroes), Genji (see Tracer but even harder to play well), Mei (can be good in 1v1 though McCree is better at her role I think), Symmetra (has her uses as an ambush hero and her Teleporter's great but definitely shouldn't be thought of as a Support, more a defence hero). Of course all of these are general, and the specific situation may favour certain heroes over others. For instance, DVa is pretty terrible, but you can do a 6x DVa strat on Attack on Hanamura and cycle through Defence Matrix, it can either be really effective or backfire something fierce. If you're new to the game, I would say try Reinhardt, Winston and Mercy. They're quite good heroes for newcomers to pick up and play (though they do take time to master). If you can learn to play as either you can fill a good role on your team. After that, for damage, learn how to play McCree, Pharah and Reaper. Lucio is also very useful to learn and have on your team. Learn not to "trickle" into the objective, you want to push as a group. And learn to focus Bastion and Torbjorn turrets (as well as Mercy, Zenyatta, Symmetra's Teleporter) when you see them. When you're confident you understand how the game works, then you can pick players like Tracer, Junkrat etc. And when your aim is solid you can pick Widowmaker (not Hanzo), Genji or Zenyatta.

3 RepliesBastion Everything else.
-
6 RepliesObjectively speaking, Mei is the best hero. She's usable at longer ranges and extremely effective at close range with her freezing ability. She can pop a wall to suppress fire from distant enemies or use it to escape from an unfavorable encounter. She can become invulnerable to protect herself from lethal damage (and heal inside). Her ultimate can stop a team push with one fell swoop; essentially a better Graviton Surge that doesn't group the enemies up as close. She also has a hefty 250 health. There is no definitive "best hero," however. Every hero has a counter; it's your fault when you don't know what it is.
