I could be wrong but as far as i am aware shin malphur killing dredgen yor was the first recorded use of golden gun, sounds pretty powerful to me. The lore also talks of another hunter, ana bray whose golden gun blasted through waves of fallen at the battle of twilight gap, she was so powerful she left behind pools of light where she had felled her enemies. Powerful enough for those pools of light to still be present, when we went there as part of the no time to explain quest, and powerful enough for those pools to save us from oryx, pretty awesome if you ask me.

The player.

6 RepliesOnly powerful one is cayde. If the rest were so strong they wouldn't have gotten wrekt. Maybe Eris but she got lost in a whole for a few years so...

I'm not sure who the most powerful hunter is, but I am positive he was so good he made Titans wish he got nerfed when they met him.

1 ReplyChuck Norris anyone?

Great convo going on here, I see a lot of posts trying to determine the powerful guardians "subclass". A lot of folks saying Cayde is a bladedancer and the Felwinter was a voidwalker, but what's to say they didn't have all 3 subclasses like we do? Does anyone have any lore that would suggest otherwise? Would love to hear thoughts since I haven't gotten very deep into the lore side of Destiny...

16 RepliesNow I know that the general consensus is as follows; Dredgen Yor was a Hunter. However, there is only evidence to this. Not fact. I personally believe he was a Warlock.

30 RepliesWell, let's see who we have to choose between first. Jaren Ward, first known wielder of The Last Word and overall badass. Dredgen Yor, Crucible legend and creator of Thorn Shin Malphur, first known Guardian not reborn/awoken by a Ghost, also possible first Gunslinger. Gheleon, Iron Lord Bladedancer Efrideet, Iron Lord Gunslinger Perun, Iron Lord Nightstalker The Six Coyotes, first Guardians to have left the City's walls. Andal Brask, previous Hunter Vanguard Mentor, may have fought in Twilight Gap Cayde-6. I'm not feeling the need to say anything here. Tevis Larsen, one of the last Nightstalkers, also one of the more powerful ones. Pahanin, sole survivor of the first Vault of Glass Raid, creator of Super Good Advice. Those are the ones I can think of right now.

Shin Malfur or Jaren Ward are the most notorious Hunters, besides Eris, who isn't very light powered anymore. Jaren Ward or Dredgon Yur (also no longer light powered) would probably be considered the "most powerful". However, Jaren was killed by Dredgon after Dredgon became a wizard. Shin later killed Dredgon and took Jarens place doing whatever noble thing he was doing (I forget). So, Hunter version of Dredgon would be the most powerful, as is said in the Thorn grimoire. Then Jaren, or Shin, tho we don't know how powerful Shin became after he killed Dredgon, so he could have been more powerful than Jaren or Hunter Dredgon. #TitanMasterRace

Both the Light in the Darkness, and the shadow in the Light. The blight in the fight. The eater of sandwiches. The wearer of socks. 9 RepliesCayde stated blade dancing. He is the one who also got them invisibility. He stole the "formula" from Rasputin.
