Sorry you are missing your marks, I have some questions for you.
Is it a possibility that someone might have access to your account, did you play the 5 story missions that your level 8 Hunter played today?
Did you spend the marks buying any items or by use them for Infusion of items?

My room mate played on the other hunter today yes but if that's the reason there taken away that's kind of ridiculous cause I've spent a lot of time earning them. No I haven't bought any thing either.

I have a question. Where are you viewing your Legendary marks from in-game or on the App or Website?

Regrettably all you can do is try clearing your Cache and seeing if the Legendary marks reappear or earn marks again by playing activities that grant Legendary marks. Cache info. https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/12539

In game under my characters inventory it's the same with all 3 of my character

Just to be sure, you're aware that legendary marks are shared between characters, right? Only asking because some people were unaware.
