Seriously, this last patch has killed flame shield. There is no reason to use it over solar wind or brimstone.
Flame shield does not allow you to survive 2 Melees anymore.
A standard melee deals 122 damage.
A Warlock with flame shield has 225 hitpoints.
122 multiplied by 2 is 244.
244 is larger than 225.
I rest my case.
5 RepliesYour math is wrong, give me video proof, hunter just meleed me yesterday twice when I had flame shield (didnt use ram or anything) and I survived. Sorry to say but it gives atleast 50 health.
-
1 ReplyIt absolutely lets you survive 2 normal melee hits.
-
4 RepliesI headshotted a Sunsinger with patience & time while he had flame shield and he survived. only case (recently) that flame shield has been bothersome. flame shield (in my opinion) is the most useful out of the 3 in pve because it can help clutch some revives and such but in pvp, the other two win out (also my opinion).
-
1 ReplyBrimstone is much more fun, and get your melee really fast
-
Because I know my medal score
-
4 RepliesBecause solar wind doesn't push teammates anymore
-
Well it's still better than solar wind and brimstone.
-
5 Repliescause PERRIGRINE GREAAAVEEEEESSS
-
1 ReplyKnockback doesn't work half the time.
-
6 RepliesBecause the melee is far enough that you can proxy it to live through some shotgun blasts, and it also helps sponge bullets from a last word, ar, ect. Not very useful against a melee anymore yet it has applications. That said when super is active the shield is very useful and can absorb a lot when mixed with radiant skin. Yet regardless I play mostly as a voidwalker in pvp, while using sunslinger for pve (that solar gernade and radiant skin work wonders.) So to be honest if I join pvp as a sunslinger it's a accident and I am to lazy to fix it during the match lol.
-
2 RepliesI usually run voidwalker but in the cases i actually use my sunsinger (only in pve btw) i save my flame shield for when someone goes down to make my res run safer
-
9 RepliesIt can still survive two melees, just not a storm fist + melee or burn + melee
-
1 ReplyI use Solar Wind
-
3 RepliesIts the range over power. Melee duel between a titan and a warlock if the warlock ia far enough away they can get the first hit. Then they have an over shield before they are hit.
-
3 RepliesYour favorite overwatch character is soldier 76 right?
-
2 RepliesTo survive a melee fight
-
1 ReplyOk I see your point, but what's so good about the other melees?
-
You got a lot of polls today violet. Nice
-
1 ReplyIs this international stupid poll day or something?
-
I use Flame Shield, because Solar Wind and Brimstone are worthless..
-
Plz stop. I wish I could 1v1 you with your bs loadout. You'd stop talking shit about flame shield. Also, here's your ammo ...I don't notice any difference after the 'nerf' I still survive when otherwise I wouldn't have, and I continue to destroy. So what did the nerf even do ...numbers wise please...I am honestly curious and ignorant to the facts
-
I stop blades anyway
-
1 ReplyOr, because its the only viable option. Solar wind is weak AF And i dont even remember the other ones name but it makes orbs.
-
1 ReplyReally? Cuz I've seen it happen plenty of times.
-
2 RepliesFlame Shield still has its uses, it's just now there's a reason to use the other two. In PvP its competition is still pretty weak, but the recharge bonus is its own advantage.
-
1 ReplyI still like it as an "oh s**t" button for PvE. I'm surrounded and I need to run away, I'll quickly tag someone on my way out to give me an overshield. Hopefully that + running away lets me survive.
