Tips for kings fall raid?

So. I haven't played destiny in a LONG time, I slowed way down in October (I ended up wanting a break and just wanted to overall do different things). I've done multiple runs of normal mode, so I'm familiar with the mechanics and steps it takes to be successful, but I've never done hard mode. I've done all of the other raids, so I'm expecting there to be a difference or a slight change in certain boss battles, and if I recall in the April update the Kings fall raid is dropping higher light level gear. So my question is, what are the differences between the two difficulties? How should I prepare myself and how should I approach a group? My light level is low 320s, should I get it higher before going in? Any tips would be appreciated.

You can clear HM more easily above 310, but you could be lower, so 320s is more than enough. Strats are all the same. No platform halfway thru ships. Warpriest shoots taken crap after each round. Golgy- 1 random person in the light puddle gets "unstable light" which xplodes after countdown and kills all nearby except person that had it. Daughters have no gap between kills, next timer starts right after first light show. Oryx- Redbar knights spawn after each ogre dies to consume the corrupted light bombs left by that respective ogre. Challenges: Warpriest - same person can't hold aura twice in the encounter Golgy - each person needs to hold gaze once each dmg cycle. Most just do single orb strat then pass it around before resetting and repeating Oryx - xplode all 16 bombs at once instead of 4 or 8 at a time

    • Here's the best tip you'll ever get, most people are horribly incompetent. I get why there's so many pvp cry babies if people have trouble killing scripted AI. Boot people mercilessly, if you have to be told something more than once then those people usually just keep causing wipes.

      • Your light level is a bit low according to LFG standards. But in all honesty 320 is just fine, the only thing I can think of is to know the "challenge modes" for each boss fight. Other than that it's basically the same raid .

      • From my experience anyone who is skilled at pvp has no trouble adjusting to kings fall hard. You'll be fine, only major difference is you have to snipe a lighteater knoght at oryx opposite the plate you're on! If you're on xbox one add me and i'll do a raid with you.

      • The other people here explained it perfectly, the only thing I can add is: have a good scout rifle, sniper rifle and HMG, and you'll be just fine. Happy hunting.

        • Your level is fine don't worry but here's the differences: • Ships: you can't stop because there's no platform. • Totems: yellow bar Knights spawn in now. • Warpriest: gets abilities after damage phases, just do it same as normal and the second you can move after oculus do it. • golgoroth: gaze taker has 4 balls to shoot instead of 3 and someone random in the pool of light gets a debuff called unstable light (screen goes green) if you get it run away from the team because you explode and kill them while remaining unharmed yourself. • daughters: there's no time between runs as soon as you kill the first the timer starts straight up. • oryx: knights spawn after each ogre is killed and need taking out immediately, they spawn in order opposite to the ogre and on the other side of the plate (ogre to the left knight on the right and vice versa)
