I've never done a single raid......no mic, and never had the requisite gear to get in (during Year 1)
and being on last gen 360.......most guardians are on XBOne/PS4
had my arse kicked many times trying to solo crota.....to get the crux to upgrade the Eidolon
So, with the reality that that no-one is doing them........I probably never will do any raid
I still want the gear though!

I thought I was doing alright at 300+ for a casual....with no mic and no-one I know who plays this game pretty darn difficult gaming at 40 years old....without the freedom to sit for hours and game

A mic isn't something you absolutely have to have to do raids..I've never done a raid with a mic and have killed atheon, Templar, and crota plenty of times with no trouble. Also killed skolas the week HoW came out with a team with no mics with no wipes..just saying

Yep, me too. And I was always the sword-runner on Crota. On Skolas I just danced when I wanted them to take off poison (later, guys just started taking poison based on their own timer so I didn't even need to).

Skolas at level 40 with the blocking of essence with the sword makes it a piece of cake. I am level 34 and completed skolas with a level 40 person just the two of us very easily a couple of weeks ago and we did not need to talk at all - but we had audio party. Back in the day though when we killed him in year 1, when we were all 34 and no one had a sword this was a different story my friend. Believe me. Counting the timer to inform the other player to absorb the essence, and asking continuously the one who had it how many seconds had, was a must.

Well, thats when I actually tried it a number of times, around 31/32/33 back when TDB was new DLC, but after they fixed the 'glitch' and believe me, Solo, its bloomin' impossible to get through the darkness......maybe its the Titan build.....who knows. Its pretty darn impossible now when you don't know the route! Maybe I'm just crap!

Yeah, cos I just never thought of that......didn't want to spend £60 on a decent mic, to then swap systems and have it be incompatable

I'm no expert but right now I'm using skullcandy slyr which I'm loving and they're compatible with old and current gen as well as pc I've heard turtle beaches are overpriced compared to quality though Heard good things about Astro and triton though
