I can't be the only person wondering how long their lifespan is. Hive are theoretically immortal, Vex are robots, and the Cabal don't have enough lore for that to be important. Also, I'm pretty sure Variks is older than 90.

eramis from beyond light was there when the traveler met the eliksni for the first time. and was there to regroup her people when it left. so we know they can live for hundreds, potentially, thousands of years. whether they die of old age though, unsure.

1 ReplyPlanning to cheese the Fallen raid by waiting at the start for them to die of old age? ;)

We *kind* of know how long the Cabal live for. The strike boss with the mortar was supposedly seen during the Cabals first strike on mars.

If supplanted with ether, possibly indefinite

All that remains are the Eliksni Warriors and they're much like the Guardians. Since we have no reason to believe the Guardians die of old age, I imagine neither do the Eliksni. I suggest moving this into the Destiny category for a more focused discussion on this.

No one knows for sure. We know in the golden age humans had longer lifetimes, maybe double or triple normal human life spans. We know guardians revived by ghost can live hundreds of years. We don't even know how long a human in the last city lives now post collapse. Do they live long like before? Or without the traveler have they reverted back to a normal life span? That said, variks and the wolves were around at twilight gap (they got distracted out in the reef with the queen instead of helping the other houses on earth). If when knew when twilight gap occurred, it would be easier to speculate. The sense is that twilight gap was quite a while ago, so I'd guess the fallen life span to be several hundred years.

4 RepliesEdited by Qwerty: 5/26/2016 3:32:50 AMThey live as long as the ether flows. During their golden age, they grew big and strong because ether flowed freely. Now, most ether goes to the Kell, then to his Barons, the Barons give to their Captains, then the Captains disribute amongst their crew. Those who are left with only dregs of ether, the dregs, are given just enough to live. If they missed an ether payday, they would die on the spot. Before the Traveler showed up and gave them their ether addiction, they lived extremely short (in comparison) lives.

The cabal are an ancient empire. They are kept alive by the black oil. They are not new but very ancient
