Personally, I think there's a difference between using a glitch in the game and "cheating." And no, I've never used this glitch, and wasn't even aware it existed before today. I just don't think doing something like this counts as "cheating."

"cheat CHēt verb gerund or present participle: cheating 1. act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage, especially in a game or examination." You're acting dishonestly to gain an advantage, in this case unlimited heavy ammo. How is that not, by definition, cheating?

Edited by albinomachina: 5/20/2016 8:34:15 PMBecause everyone can do it? Not everyone has lagswitches, or aimbots or modded controllers. Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending the people that are doing it, and I'm really glad bungie identified the problem and went to work to try and correct it as quickly as they did. I just don't consider this "cheating." It's kind of like if you wrote the answers to a test on your arm and used them to pass, then you cheated. If your teacher forgot to erase the chalkboard and left the study notes on it for the whole class to see then that's their fault.

I don't have a clown cartridge rocket launcher or anything for that matter. It's cheating because it is circumventing the spirit of the competitive arena by obtaining unlimited heavy ammo. Yes the glitch is there, but that doesn't mean it must be used. Doesn't make the people doing it any less wrong or unscrupulous just like in your example. You still KNOW that you've done something wrong and shouldn't be doing it. If Bungie would have the balls to make examples of this by giving week long restrictions, the next glitch wouldn't cause events to be cancelled because the cheaters will fear consequences.

But not everyone has cocoon/clown cartridge so....

I understand that, and like I've said I'm glad this is going to get fixed. It's really sad that this has cost me my Iron Banner. But, I just feel like the word "cheater" is a bit harsh for what these kids have been doing.
