How to Improve Fabian Strategy (imo)
Ok so our class specific exotics are Tlaloc for the warlocks a great all-rounder scout and deadly when full super.
Ace of spades again great perks and firefly on a hc epic.
Now fabian strategy....what happened? I probably play my titan the least but would like their exclusive exotic to shine.
Looking at the weapon itself the small shielding at the front started me thinking.....what if a small temporary energy shield like that of a sword (only shields from front) could proc when crouched or ads (like p&t) with a say 5 sec duration and 20 or 30 second cooldown?
While not adding to the weapons offensive power it does add a defensive capability and imo make the weapon a worthy contender in both pve and pvp.
What are peoples thoughts on this?

If we're speaking literally the most appropriate perk would be to give Titans the ability to Self revive if they died with full Super, that would never work in-game though.

Or how about a Perk to choose under the current Max one that : When ADS your Guardians Shield is drained and reinforced in front of you in Energy form and is more powerful. That way you become vulnerable while using it but in front of you is reinforced. Also Id say it loses Ammo when shot and lasts one full MAG. Cant use again for 10 seconds. Give 80 Round mag.

I would love a shield to pop up when ADS. But have it be able to be up "unlimited" but at the cost of your Primary Ammo AND have it be a perk to choose between the current Max Perk which increases fire rate when close to enemy or the shield. If Shield is selected you get the Ammo Drain when its hit AND you can not move but you can Shoot. So you become a placement gun, and to not make it OP you lose ammo by shooting and by being shot. I would also increase the Mag to 80 when shield is selected.

I was complaining about Fabian Strategy to a friend who told me that the worse you make it, the better it gets! Weirdly, if you change the settings down to highest recoil, low stability all of a sudden it's a hundred times better to use. Try it!

Exotic perk should proc sooner and faster. And maybe add counterbalance or another stability perk because this thing kicks like a horse. That way you have a gun similar to the high rate of fire archetypes only with the exotic ability to fire faster in some situations, thus making it somewhat worthy of being an exotic in the first place

How about you're able to shoot through a bubble (with a major damage drop off whenever it Goes through bubble to make it balanced)

I use the Fabian strategy all the time. It's not that bad of an exotic once you get used to it. Compared to other legendary ARs it does have its ups and downs. The rate of fire when front lines is active is as high as the Arminius but with higher impact. Also every now and then the Fabian strategy gets 4 extra rounds in the magazine (probably a glitch). In pve the Fabian strategy absolutely destroys. I like using it with simmering flames and fleet fire. Being able to reload the gun super fast increases the dps of the weapon tremendously since you don't lose your crowd control because of reloading.

Had somewhat of the same idea as you. I thought that it should mitigate a percentage of incoming damage from the front. It has a shield on the front for -blam!- sakes. I'm using it at the moment just because. I think the clip should be 60 like someone else said. I don't like Tlaloc either. I think that should be revisited too. Its better than Fabian but I'm not for perks that make you stall your super.

Edited by Swiftlock: 5/18/2016 8:36:12 AMIt would still lose horribly to weapons like the Zhalo (and most well-rolled scout rifles) for PvE utility, and your suggestion does very little to help in PvP since crouching or ADS'ing with a short-range auto rifle for too long is generally a bad idea. Also, Bungie would make sure that whatever shield buff it would give you is very minimal for the sake of balance. They even nerfed The Ram's armor buff from 5% to 3%. I'll agree that the Fabian needs a buff, but a generic shield isn't too exciting.

I want to use it, it's sits there on my Titan in reserve. But it just doesn't have any 'I don't know what'. It's missing something.

20 RepliesHow about fix the damn perk it's got. It's supposed to fire faster and gain stability. The only thing that happens is it loses impact.... No, keep the impact upon perk proc and make the perk [u]do as it says it should do[/u] Perk should literally add 12 ROF and 20-30 stab. Done, easy, over.

Bringing its magazine cap to 60 would fix everything wrong with the gun. Adding hand laid stock would also make it really good too.
