It has an optimal range which it thrives at. But outside of that range it can be countered. FYI, the best Crucible players don't use it.

Yeah its range just doesnt really drop off on any of the maps, it loses like 1 point of damage outside of medium range and is still easy as hell to hit the headshots without missing. Also the fact you cant list a counter is a sign.
