Skill Based Matchmaking (SBMM) is a matchmaking system, mainly in shooters, that focuses on the skill of players for multiplayer gamemodes or PvP. It was mainly implemented to prevent really good players from being matchmade with really bad players and have a more "balanced" experience. But SBMM can be flawed at times and can cause a number of negative things including: -Laggy matches -Slowpaced Gameplay -Longer matchmaking times -People that leave matches early So while it is intended to do something poitive, these negative things actually occur quite often, and Bungie has tried to remedy this by prioritizing connection alongside skill with matchmaking, but for me and a lot of my friends, some of these issues still arise. So should SBMM be in the game? Should it maybe be improved to focus on connection as first priority maybe? Send feedback or bump this post to get Bungie's attention and make neccesary changes.

  • Bungie created Halo Reach's matchmaking. There, players can choose to prioritize for connection, or prioritize for skill or prioritize for time. Why not allow players to make the same choice in Destiny?
