Quillim's Terminus is a terrible gun
The [i]only[/i] reason to ever use that gun was for the huge amount of ammo you got in pvp and pve. But statwise this weapon is literally trash. Thunderlord has higher range, stability, reload, magsize, and better perks. A well rolled BTRD has even more stability and impact than a thunderlord. Even after using smallbore on terminus the stats are just pathetic.

Thunder = exotic slot Btrd = y1 weapon = useless in endgame PvE and PvP

The cocoon perk makes it better than the Thunderlord IMO. Plus you don't have to use an exotic slot for it.

But cocoon is only useful if you have something to reload it with. So, dropping the ammo has the effect of negating the usefulness of cocoon. But you clearly said "was" so we are talking pre-nerf, so we can ignore the fact that cocoon might not be as viable, that doesn't change its importance. So, no; A) large ammo was NOT the "only reason", as you claim, to have used the gun; B) Cocoon was another reason to use, and arguably the more important one. You've confused the bullet cart as you try to put it before the perk horse.

True, BTRD was God's weapon of choice. But Quillems is actually a great machine gun. It only take 3 headshots and you still get a lot of ammo if you choose extended mag.

Thunderlord on the other hand is much better and very good but is an exotic, Depending on what I am doing I would prefer a exotic as a special or primary over it being used in the heavy slot. Recently I have been using the Unseeing eye machine gun and it has been out performing Qullim's. The other advantage is the cocoon perk, I understand that some machine guns will reload faster then cocoon activates but the advantage of the perk is mainly usefull in PVE, example the raid, I will use the gun to kill some adds switch to primary or special to keep fire on the adds or to shoot a boss and by the time I need to use the machine gun again it is already reloaded.

Well no shit thunderlord is going to be better its a -blam!-[i]i[/i]ng exotic. People use quillims terminus for its perks, caccoon is just perfect for an LMG and should you hit the jackpot on rolls it can be a great machine gun. Stats don't define everything.

Of all HMGs only one is better all the time and a year 1 is only better some of the time? Based on that logic, that further provides evidence that Quillum's Terminus is a really good gun.

If you're playing IB/ToO/PVE where light level matters, it's still about the best legendary HMG available that can reach 335 light. Also the cocoon perk allows it to reload while you temporarily use another weapon. Very handy in PVE. I like Thunderlord, but for Crucible I'd rather use Mida, Invective, or Telesto as my exotic. Also, for regular Crucible, I do use my old Yr 1 BTRD or Jolder's Hammer. I just don't play much PVP.

2 RepliesEdited by Raider TCK: 5/17/2016 12:18:54 PMIt used to be a lot better. It just received a stability and reserve ammo nerf. Now smallbore is basically a requirement on the weapon. It was the best LMG in the game. Now a good roll on a few others can out do it. Plus in the raid if you want to use thunder lord, it means you can't use the touch of malice or black spindle. And those weapons are much more useful.
