EDIT: Looks like Bungie already used the name "Survival," so I removed that proposed name.
A new kind of Crucible challenge where fireteams of guardians must fight in vast terrain (Patrol maps) against both apposing fireteams and the alien hordes. Fireteams must take control of Salvage sites to claim rewards, and apposing guardians can steal these sites to take the rewards. There are revives, but there are no respawns, and if all three members of your fireteam die, then you are kicked out to orbit. There is no end to the match, there is only how long you can survive.
It's essentially Patrol + Elimination + Salvage. The Crucible is meant to test guardians, and this is the ultimate test. I would love to see this is a future expansion or Destiny 2.
EDIT: Maybe in an expansion for Destiny 8
More Detail:
- Fireteams of 3 enter essentially a Patrol zone (like the entire Cosmodrome or Ishtar Sink), but with high level PVE enemies to kill for special and heavy ammo drops. Your fireteam members are your only allies, and all other guardians are enemies.
- You cannot respawn; you can only be revived. If your entire fireteam is dead, then you are sent back to orbit.
- There are a few Salvage objectives littered across the vast terrain that can be captured and taken for Crucible reputation and experience points. Like Salvage, the objectives will take time to fully capture. Fully capturing an objective can also yield loot such as legendary Crucible drops.
- Each additional Salvage site capture following the first yields bonus experience and reputation for the fireteam, and this stacks up to 5 times. Having a stack of 5 gives a chance of obtaining exotics. The stacks are lost when the entire fireteam is dead and kicked to orbit. This is to make being kicked to orbit carry a sense of lost progress.
- Guardians can steal Salvage zones from apposing fireteams to take the rewards for themselves.
- Sparrows will be enabled for speedy travel. I imagine snipers would be a massive issue if players don't have tools like vehicles to quickly close the distance.
- Events can be randomly triggered. While completely optional, clearing such events gives a sizable reputation reward, and it has a chance reward end-game loot or exotics. One event can be a challenge to wipe out two enemy fireteams within a time limit, or to kill a PVE boss (like a Fallen Walker).
- There is no end. You can stay in as long as your fireteam can survive.
- This is only visual, but there could be a fleet of City ships in the air to help us extract and provide combat assistance in case something goes horribly wrong and the exercise is cancelled. To make it abundantly clear, lore-wise, this is a TRAINING EXERCISE just like regular crucible.
Some of you may think I'm just trying to make Destiny copy The Division's Dark Zone, but this is just a more sophisticated version of an idea I had back in the Destiny's open beta. My reasoning is that Destiny's Crucible currently just offers small scale fights on tiny maps, and I generally prefer larger scale fights.

1 Replyyeah, just what I need to throw money at. Old reskined content. Yay.

7 RepliesMy only problem with this is that there is a 100% chance elitist dickbags who have no lives other than being jerks are just going to do exactly what the assholes in division do and just camp the shit out of other people. Elitism is worse in destiny than in division so the DZ people problems will be even more rampant. It's a cool idea in theory just like the DZ is in division, but people will ruin it in the exact same way.

2 RepliesBUMP for creativity & humor. Been wanting a friendly/unfriendly mode in patrol, kind of like gta

1 ReplyHere are my ideas for this event -The game should have a 30 min timer with 6 different teams of 3 the last team standing at the end of the match can get loot that is up to 335 light. If the timer runs out the remaining teams can get an item up to 330 light. -This event can be won twice a week on each character to prevent top tier pvp players from turning this into an infinite loot farm. - Winning in this game mode is if you survive the whole time or if you wipe out all the other teams. -Losing teams are given normal crucible rewards with an increased chance of getting exclusive gear. -There also should be chests scattered all over the map that can be gold or silver -Gold chests have high tier rewards like from COE -Silver chests are simply like material chests from the raid -This event would replace the raid for crucible players. - There also would be exclusive survival gear. -Loot that can drop from this includes Survival exclusive gear, crucible specific weapons, crucible weapons/armor, exotics, ToO gear (small chance), and Iron Banner gear (very small chance).
