Would anybody else out there rather use the left trigger to zoom in with a weapon than click in the right thumbstick?

Yes, an option to use the left trigger to do the right sticks function please. My xbox controllers sticks always go weird, I click stick in, it zooms with sniper and BR etc but then when I just try to look around the stick clicks in too easily and it exits zoom, this makes it awkward for me. If you like using the stick fine, I wouldn't want them to change the default control scheme but I would like to be given the option.

It will be called COH (call of halo) control type. Grenade spammers will bow to our feet. Shooting will finally be fun again! Take notice Bungie, this isnt hard to do.
-
I like clicking to zoom, left trigger is for grenades. Imagine throwing a grenade by pressing down the joystick? That would get old really fast.

-
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That would mess up my Pro sticking abilities. I'm not joking. I'm crazy at sticking (ask my friends) and the left thumbstick is my bestfriend (along with my right)
-
This isnt CoD. Stop trying to make it into CoD. This is halo.
-
No way, if weve had halo with the same controls for years we should keep it that way. I love the button layout as it is right now and wouldnt want it too change.
Posted by: NotMasterCheif Ok, what if the left trigger only made (on a weapon that had no zoom) the 'crosshairs' smaller and the player walk slower. The grenades could be on the left bumper and the game wouldn't be too COD-like. Im just annoyed that the you have to use a completely different weapon for a long range shot, if the one your using doesn't have zoom.
You don't even know how wrong you are.
Posted by: NowYouSeeHim
Posted by: LONED0G one thing i hate about call of duty give this feel that if you aim down iron sights accuracy is 100%. I can understand from hip fire to aiming danm gun but there so many weapons that i get pissed off that kills me becuase physically would be impossible. ak 47 shooting someone past 400 meater good luck or even have decent accuracy at full auto. pistol shoot past 50 yards with pin point accuracy but i look at iron sights. also halo is post to be fast pace game so i dont want restrictions on aiming. cod sucks that some one can sprint faster than i can aim unless you foot in front of me. also about iron sights if you going to use them than have range set. Its like someone have bzo there m16 and try to shoot someone with iron sights at 500 yards is not going to work. Do not use COD as anything on how guns work please its more unrealistic than having hud aim systems. Which that technology is all ready out. Just not cost effective.
well said...really the control scheme does not need changing at all...i doubt Bungie would even want to change it considering its been like that since CE...
Well, I like the CoD aproach to aiming. Being able to sprint past an ADSed Sniper, then knife them in the back is satisfing every time. I would not mind giving halo CoD controls if I had the option. Just as long as we are talking another control scheme option. . .
-
I really like the left trigger as zoom BUT you may be able to assign your own actions to buttons.
-
i love th idea for auto weapons only but for br and sniper like weapons its a no
-
I think it should stay the way it is. If LT was used for aiming, then grenades would either be assigned to clicking the right thumbstick, which would be annoying, or get assigned to another button and mess up the controls even more. At that point, it wouldn't feel like I'm playing Halo.
-
I lover CoD, but the left trigger 2 aim just doesn't seem like it would work in Halo.
-
Seeing as more than half the weapons have no scope or sights I see no point, just another reason to whore certain weapons more I you ask me.

edit for laggy double post [Edited on 02.18.2010 3:37 AM PST]

I don't want to press RB to throw nades. Keep LT ADS to realism based games like BF.
-
you click the stick to go in scope. someone shoots you, so you get knocked out of scope. you click the stick to go back in scope. you pull left trigger to go in scope. someone shoots you, so you get knocked out of scope. you are already holding right trigger, so how do you go back in scope? it seems more then a little awkward having to let go and hold it again. i cant see the advantage in having to keep track of randomly alternating between pulling and holding both triggers simultaneously while trying to aim.
Posted by: Sabertooth1994 And for those who think this is copying COD, blam! you because many games use this technique
Well, by all means. If everyone else is doing it, then we should too. Question: If everyone you knew was jumping off a high bridge without bungie cords, would you do so too?
-
noooooo
-
COD uses this because the action and movement of the trigger fits the ADS animation. Halo uses the stick because that fits the zoom animation. If you take my meaning.
-
No, you wouldn't have to literally 'aim down sights', just make the cross-hairs smaller and therefor more accurate. I don't want halo to be cod, just to have the choice of a more accurate shot. [Edited on 02.18.2010 3:00 AM PST]

Nope, I just want to see an idiot aim with a "needle" weapon, and promptly lose eyesight. Explosive ball throwing may resume after this display of incompetence. [Edited on 02.17.2010 2:48 PM PST]

Has everyone here forgotten that the left trigger throws an Explosive Ball?
-
If they do add ADS, I have one proposition for you: Aim down the sight of the needle rifle.... Yeah, didn't think about covenant weapons, did you?
