Or, one re-roll per weapon type (primary, secondary, and heavy) per week. You loose access to said weapon for a week, while the gunsmith works on it for you. At the end of the week, you get a random roll (not predetermined like Arms Day). You pay 40 marks, or a 5000 glimmer per re-roll.
This could be applied to Armor as well. Take it to whoever it's for (Vanguard, New Monarchy, Crucible, etc.) they keep it for a week, and when you get it back, it will have a new roll.
Edit: BTW, Raid armor would be Eris.

As long as you can keep the weapon with the gunsmith every week so that it would reroll again.

also a great idea!

Brilliant... #cosmo

Perhaps also require a weapon or engram to be contributed to the Gunsmith as part of the 'materials' including Weapon Parts and Glimmer. Make the Gunsmith the go-to for Twists of Fate whilst we're at it so he can stay relevant.

BUMP THIS. I love this idea. It would help promote variety in weapon usage by taking a favorite weapon from you for a week whilst you seek to improve it. You could discover so many more weapons in your vault that you never used and still feel like you're making progress! Weapons that have rerolled stats would then have to be leveled up again, at least the perks that we're replaced, continuing the desire to upgrade and level said weapon. Also, if we could pay for specific trees to be rerolled, that would be awesome and help to keep this feature from being too frustrating. Perhaps a discount price to randomly reroll ALL perks, but a much more expensive price to 'specialize'.

I hadn't thought of the Specific Trees thing, but that is a great idea! It would take some of the risk out, if you have a perk you like already. Cost should still be the same though. I like it.
