Why 3 shots for golden gun?

A sunbreaker can throw at least 5 hammers, but could be up to 7. A stormcaller lasts forever and can shred 7-10 opponents easily (oh, and is nearly impossible to run away from unless you're already on the other side of the map). And a golden gun gets 3 bullets. Why? Why shouldn't the golden gun last the entire duration of the super, or alternatively, not have a time limit if limited to 3 shots?

  • Are you 12 or just have absolutely no clue how this game works? Golden Gun is instant death at whatever you shoot, does not require any leading your target AND Gunslingers have a VERY good neutral game with their grenades and throwing knives. Giving them unlimited shots for the entire duration of the super would make the class broken beyond belief.

      I did a great job running away from a storm calling with his super up while using my Hunter. It was 3 vs 2 (one of my team mates left) so he was intent of killing me since there was nobody else around Unfortunately I ran into one of his friends, who slowed me down enough and I got zapped. He was probably gaining anyway... was across the room when he triggered it.

    • I find these posts amusing. As they perfectly show how little people know if basic game mechanics. You have a very competent super, that can hit an enemy and kill them with one shot from almost any range on the maps we have. Add over the horizon and you can snipe people on ANY map in the game. To balance this very powerful pvp super, they provide no armor bonus to this roaming super. So three burst from a pulse kill, four shots from mida, or one head shot with any sniper would kill the user out right. It has three shots because it is an almost near instant death from it. Even if you have your super on

      • It has lots of aim assist and can 1 hit kill anyone from a decent distance with no travel time. Don't complain about it in pvp complain about it in pve. It's next to useless in pve.

      • Oh man don't get me started with the bladedance class as well. Like sometimes I would slice and dice the players and it would just tickle them and I get melted down like nothing. And I was hoping the bladedance was a super that threw knives not run around with a tiny ass dagger

      • It's how the Super works. In a short time span you can get off 3 per ice long range shots that are each stronger than a Rocket. Or with an exotic, one single strong shot. I'm working on getting damage values for Supers, abilities and popular weapons. Your questions and concerns are part of why I want to do this. Message me if you want to be notified when I am done.

      • Because it has crazy range, instant bullet speed, and can 1 shot supers A hammer does not have reliable range, travels really slow, but can still 1 shot a super. Thus, more hammers because they are less reliable at range

            • No because unlike those other things, the OG GG is an instantaneous one shot that can't be dodged unless BS. GG is my fave tho and I wouldn't mind extra shots as a pve exclusive exotic perk.

              • I main a gunslinger and I think the subclass is perfect the way it is. Golden gun is much easier to hit targets with than a titans hammer and instakills instead of having to lead your shot and account for the arc of the hammer. Sorry but your complaint lacks any validation.

                • PvE. GG is much more powerful vs. Bosses, etc. Not everything is designed for PvP.

                  • Gunslinger here. The answer is it kills you instantly from across the map. No travel time, no dodging, just instantly dead. And with certain perks/exotics it can have basically infinite range, combustion that kills multiple people, increased penetration for multiple targets, increased time, or an extra shot.

                  • BC a gg shot has like unlimited distance and takes less then a sec to hit his target and if used right you get 3 easy kills. St you have to be close close to get kills. Sure they do seem hard up close but when far away they don't do so well and gg would win that battle and has a chance upclose if you hear it coming. Hos is great for close and far but takes a lot more time to hit target from afar. Gg would most likely win a battle with a hos. Gg might seem limited to only 3 kills but they should be easy kills even when going up against other supers
