Everyone defending sbmm say that you should have to fight people on your level, but, outside of rumble, this is not what sbmm does. In team-based modes, sbmm will try to DECIDE the winning team based on skill, while trying not to make it obvious. Now sometimes you will beat the odds and win a game the computer wants you to lose, but you will have to give it 100%, at that point it stops being a relaxing game of catch, and a full on professional game... Without professional rewards.
Its also why you will be put in the same game on the same side if you quit then re-enter crucible
Just thought you should know.
I worded the intro to this link badly it was just to prove to some that matchmaking was changed in ttk: https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/14271
Thanks to all the folks backing me up. Apologize I haven't been able to respond to everybody.

Can confirm
-
Exactly, it's real goal it to make you win 1 and lose 1... 50/50
-
Thank you! Glad to see someone gets it
-
3 RepliesAye, it's also why you should never play with friends who are better than you in crucible. You will be one of the bottom players in the match. Always team with people who are worse then you so the average player you face is worse.
-
53 RepliesIt's only the better than average players that moan about SBMM as they now find themselves playing other better than average players. Being fairy useless at PVP I'm really enjoying playing people at my level rather than the better players and, best of all, I've seen latency reduce dramatically.

17 RepliesSo does trials have progressive matchmaking? Like if you are at 6 wins no losses they match you with another team with a similar current record? We always seem to start off ok but it gets more and more sweaty each match. #nevergoingtolighthouse
-
9 RepliesBungie has explicitly said the objective of SBMM is to produce a 50% win and 50% lose experience. They are attempting to make each match predetermined; that's manipulation. Only people with no self esteem and integrity are fine with being manipulated.
-
Bullshit.
-
4 RepliesAnother misconception is that Destiny hasn't always had SBMM.
-
3 RepliesI should just say git gud to this. If all of this were true, we would all have a 0.95-1.05 win percentage...and we don't. We also wouldn't win 10 straight in IB Clash or lose 10 straight in Rift. They try to even up as much as possible while making Matchmaking as quick as possible. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't, just depends on skill, Internet, and location.
-
2 RepliesSBMM must have been on my side for the past three weeks in trials then.
-
1 ReplyI gotta say, I don't like that crucible might be fixed. Ticks me off a little.
-
2 RepliesGet rid of sbmm
-
2 RepliesSbmm is poop, I love rumble I run it all the time. I'm top 1% in rumble and because of that EVERY rumble match I'm in is sweaty not just me and and one other person but me and like 3 other people are within 2 kills of eachother. I used to go to a rumble match to chill but now I sweat like I'm watching cops.

Shaxx must have taken that Mechanica bribe.
-
8 RepliesNothing in that update says anything remotely like what you claim it says. Muted for idiocy.
-
Without meaning to be critical nothing in the news post you linked to suggests matchmaking works that way. In any case that link is out of date now.
-
That's not what that article says. It just says it tries to match even teams, not that it picks a winner.
-
1 ReplyEdited by Beorabor: 5/12/2016 2:22:32 PMI agree that you appear to have lots of misconceptions about SBMM. The link that you provided in no way provides evidence to back up your claim that SBMM attempts to pick the winning and losing teams prior to the start of the match. In fact, it really doesn't say much at all about the mechanics of matchmaking in Destiny. The fact that 'highly skilled' players are now complaining that the Crucible is too hard is laughable. If you don't like playing it, then don't play. Wait for IB or stick to Trials. If enough people start to boycott the Crucible because of how matchmaking is done, Bungie will notice and make some changes. Lots of less skilled people don't play PVP now because of how hard they find it. When they complain about this, those same 'highly skilled' crybabies that are complaining about SBMM insult them and tell them to either stay out of PVP or 'git gud'.

1 ReplyEdited by takanome ranger: 5/12/2016 2:31:03 PMA common misconception is that SBMM is not a good thing
but only on small maps where I main a striker Titan, shoulder charge, shotgun and a red bar
I like sbmm. Ok I don't win all the time and my kd is below 1, I don't care. I have to try to win and improve. Or I can dìck about. Then there's times I do both and pull 6000 points in control on a subclass I don't normally use. Or I get my ass handed to me.
-
1 ReplyBut it's all about that K/D bruh, win or lose! Go positive, you get all the gurls son!
-
34 RepliesDestiny is CBMM. Lack of personal performance can't be blamed on SBMM
-
4 RepliesPlayed solo in salvage/skirmish few days ago. It's no fun with SBMM going solo. I faced fireteams of 3 four times in a row. It straight up sucked. I can handle my ones but when a good fireteam can communicate and pinch, it's unfair. Put this stupid bs in ranked playlist so I don't wait forever in orbit to get a match. (Up to 20 minutes one match daily) Allow me to disable join in progress and matchmaking fireteams vs freelance so I don't join extremely lopsided games. Those not skilled and solo like me might think I'm complaining but you VERY likely don't have the SBMM I have. If you did, you'd understand how horrible the crucible is for us. This company is spitting in the face of its most loyal and skilled crucible players

SBMM is a nightmare for solo players

1 ReplyLast night I was trying to complete my Shax bounties and win a game of skirmish and then a game of Elimination. It took about 12 matches and I had around a 1.0 KD. Very frustrating.
