This is TERRIBLE balancing. If Destiny had a mode where everyone felt like they were always super it'd be good fun, but being able to generate overshields indefinitely doesn't sound like fair play at all. Simmering flames, armamentarium thermite grenades would literally be an unlimited overshield.

  • No actually, if you reread it the overshield is actually on the firekeeper perk, which is under simmering flames meaning youd have to choose between the two.

  • Ohh, right. That doesn't make it any less unlimited though. Having two thermite grenades with max discipline gives you a grenade every 20 seconds I think? Thermite grenades last for what, nearly 10?

  • The thermite would only produce sunspots on the initial burst, and sunspots last like maybe 6 seconds!

  • And its a grenade every 25 seconds at max discipline. With two grenades being available every 75 seconds because the second grenade takes twice as long to replenish.

  • Well, as long as it's only on the initial burst I guess it'd only be half as broken. I could see people never losing to blade dancer or radiance anymore because they just slam a nade down and wait. 18 seconds before they can make another spot isn't bad at all. If an enemy comes at them they can just beat them down and that becomes 12 seconds. You also said that allies could gain the shields though, which would make a team of sunbreakers unbeatable.

  • See the thing is the overshield from sunspots is actually worse than a blessings of light overshield so essentially its the equivalent of a res shield, the only thing i think it would help with for sure in pvp would be avoiding burning to death from a firebolt or thorn, which wouldnt be terrible lol

  • If the OS only gave like 25 HP (as much as the Ram) it wouldn't be so bad. However, you can always just step in and out of it just like normal sunspots. Timing a good strafe could be the difference between 25 and 150 hp

  • Not a bad idea! Not saying my post is completely perfect so any input is great, i like your idea, adds a good balance to it and keeps it from being OP. Thanks for the comments they were helpful :)
