According to Deedah Bungie recieved a death threat.

In my a recent Indie Game Dev meeting I intended, I got to talk to a fella who's been helping along that worked for Gamasutra and has many connections and friends in the industry (including BUNGIE )
I was talking to him about the state of the game and one of the reasons they communicate more. One of these facts was quite sobering:
" BUNGIE has recieved literal death threats regarding for not balancing the game a certain way."
Now whether the folks who sent that were making a harsh joke or were crazy serious ( the latter of the which is more terrifying) doesn't matter because that sort of thing is no joking manner and only causes more trouble.
I'm not saying BUNGIE is fully excused for not communicating with us more ( They are taking baby-steps to getting better at it with us) but it's something I've kept in mind on why some of them are nervous around the community.
Just food for thought.
SO THIS IS WHY THEY NERFED FUSION RIFLES.

And why is anyone suprised.!!!!! There is a groundswell of opinion that they had it coming. The game lag is criminal in most minds as is. No losing slerp here

It can't happen in a game like this one. If they want a balanced PvP game, CoD and Battlefield exist. This shit is getting out of hand. Nothing's fun to use anymore because they've been nerfed to hell for Crucible. Even Stormcaller sucks in PvE now because of all the whiners complained until Bungie nerfed the duration of Stormtrance to shit. And now we've got these PvP-hungry lunatics sending death threats to Bungie because they won't make the game benefit them? F[b]u[/b]ck that! They all need to snap their game disc in half, and take that shit somewhere else.

They play the game in a closed environment and make adjustments based on those observations. Think of it like you playing 6v6 with the same people all the time and then making adjustments based on only those observations. Not listening to the community is the problem, they really should play their game off of their private servers. [spoiler]yes I know they show up in the wild for promotional crap[/spoiler]

If they hadn't lied to people about their product and continued to provide subpar entertainment for premium cost, then maybe, just maybe people wouldn't want them dead. I don't blame them all, just the ones in charge. I don't want anyone dead either, but there are definitely consequences for the type of business model Bungie and Activision are using.

This is just the nature of the perceived anonymity of the internet. When kids don't think they can be punished for their actions, they try to be rebels without a cause. And then one of them says the wrong thing to the wrong person, and the police show up at their house because they threatened to shoot up a school or bomb something.

Yeah, these people are saying things that are uncalled for, but you have to realize these people are not serious. If they were, they wouldn't be sending a threat. Threats are used to intimidate to get what they want. If these people want weapon balancing, they know that shooting up a place won't help, however making that place be fearful of such a threat might if it is taken seriously. The best solution is to ignore these people. Report them to the authorities, then go on your day as normal.
