Ok, so I got a new Xbox 360 Elite and a transfer Kit to transfer my old data to the new 120Gb harddrive. I've followed instructions from Xbox.com but Its not working. It says to insert the CD which came with it (which I've done) and follow the on screen instructions, But no instructions or anything has popped up. Heres what I've done so far:
1)Put old 20Gb harddrive into new 360 Elite.
2)Plugged the Transfer cable into the 120Gb harddrive and connected the other end to the back of the xbox.
3)Inserted CD and waiting instructions.
Have I done anything wrong?

It's a weird site, that's for sure.
Like I said before I got the kit from Amazon, Amazon is not a knockoff/fake site, But judging by the 360kit website, I'm guessing its a fake CD, damn Amazon. >:(

Ordering a transfer kit from Xbox.com is the only safe, sure way to get the real thing. Take this link and follow the instructions.

they might have released a patch or somthing like they did for the n router, if you havent already then try it without the instructions

Order it from Xbox.com They will give you a fresh brand new transfer kit, don't but from E-Bay or Amazon. They could be corrupt and the cd might have a virus on it
Posted by: chrism312 Are you sure you got one of the legit ones, and not a chinese knockoff? What does the CD it came with look like -- if it doesn't have anything resembling an official Microsoft disc on it, it's probably a fake. I got scammed the same way a few weeks ago, the transfer cable was both fake and didn't work, and the disk was some utility that only works on jailbroken (IE modded) 360s. Protip: Order a 512 MB 360 memory card and use it to transfer data. It's nowhere near as difficult to find as an actual working transfer kit (they go for around 40 dollars on ebay, which is saturated with the fake ones). It took me about 2-3 transfers to get all of the stuff I couldn't just redownload onto the new drive, which really only took about an hour, maybe a little less. Plus side, now you also have a memory card!
Did your fake CD say this on the front of it?: X360 Hard Drive Transfer Kit software/operation manual/saved/patch/theme Http://www.360kit.net Version 2.0.1

Send Microsoft a e-mail and they might help. The cable could be broken or the Xbox is broken. They might send you new software (transfer cd) and another cable. hope this helps =)
