Thoughts on real life vigilantes?

Problem is unlike comic vigilantes, real vigilantes aren't usually against super villains! & rarely do as much research to assure this persons guilt! Like the retards who beat up a paediatrician they looked up in the yellow pages! Because all paedophiles list themselves in the yellow pages?

I can't condone violence, but it has a place. Acting as law, going outside said law to find justice, same thing. Sometimes things just need to be done.

While I understand that they do not legally apply to individuals, vigilantism still in a way violates due process rights, and particularly target low-level bail violators, who sometimes cannot pay bail due to rampant payment plans or outright poverty (ignoring the fact that bail is statistically pointless, as up to 97% of people show up for their court dates).

I just know that the two I've seen dressed up like idiots and didn't do anything but get in the way of actual first responders (firemen were trying to get into a building and this asshole decided he will go in instead, but then failed miserably and they had to waste time on him
