I recently started another playthrough of this game and I don't get why people hate it so much. It's a pretty solid open world experience with a lot to do. What's the problem? Any answers would be appreciated

I really enjoyed it my first time through on 360. Then I tried playing again on Xbox 1 didn't enjoy it as much. Multiplayer was pretty cool tho.
-
Good game, but like most Ubisoft games, it lacks end game content
-
I agree with you. I fully enjoyed the main campaign and enjoyed the dlc campaign.

2 RepliesDear God the driving in Watchdogs is terrible.

2 RepliesIt wasn't what it was hyped up to be lmao. People will never stop using unreliable media when speculating because they simply can't wait. It was definitely a good game, though. Plenty to do, shooting was smooth.. gadget use and abilities were pretty cool.
-
I agree. It isn't perfect by any means but it was really fun. People hate on it because they wanted a GTA V with hacking.
-
They compare it to gta For me who never played gta it wasn't a bad game. Pvp was fun. Only problem I will call fair is the downgrade from trailer but that's every game. Atleast it was only a visual downgrade not like a whole one (destiny)

Hype makes people expect games that will change their life
-
I actually enjoyed it to be fair.
-
I liked it enough to do two playthroughs on it. The last game I did that on was skyrim
-
People bought into the hype and got overly excited. No game could ever live up to those kind of expectations.

Edited by Murph Tha Smurf: 5/3/2016 6:38:14 PMIdk, I loved the game. Well executed mixture of skill-based and tactical combat, good puzzles, and overall good mechanics from escaping the cops with bridges or blackouts to taking people's phones when they called the cops. I feel like people might have tried to play it like GTA, which it is far from.

Rough around the edges for sure and definetly has it's issues but the hate it receives is blown out a bit. It's a average game with fun to be had. It's not godly or bad.
-
Because a lot of people listened to the hype. I never looked up a thing about the game or watched any trailers and in return I enjoyed the game for what it was.
-
1 ReplyLmao the driving is a -blam!-in joke
-
No idea. I love that game

6 RepliesBad story. Unsympathetic hero. Frustrating, poorly designed gameplay. Pisses people off to see a game with such potential executed so poorly.
-
It's not that people hated it, it's that the game was hyped and hyped and then hyped some more as some second coming of christ, then it came out and it was ok, but it wasn't the game that they told us, and we thought it would be. On top of that they dumbed the graphics down from E3.
-
If I remember right, the pc port ran like shit on high-end cards. That stopped me from buying it.
-
4 RepliesI just can't suspend my disbelief enough when they call having a magic cell phone "hacking". I'd honestly feel more immersed if they straight up called him a technomancer that got powers over computers from secret government bla bla bla
-
I enjoyed it.

14 RepliesThere's not really much incentive to play after you finish the story IMO. Once I beat it, I did some of the side stuff and then sold it.
-
Yeah I loved the shit out of the game. I was never really hyped for the game and it blew under my radar until two months before the game came out. Played with my friends for hours. Loved pissing people off in the Hacker Infiltration game mode.
-
I always wonder the same thing. I had a blast with that game.
-
Cuz people don't know how to mitigate Hype or filter advertisement
-
The biggest one was how badly the graphics were downgraded from e3 2012.
