I just got my 9th or 30th (somewhere in between) Apple of Discord from blue engrams. I have like 6 in my vault and I've turned the rest into parts. I think this is my 3rd in as many days (fix the loot system maybe?). Anyway to the suggestion. It would be awesome if when you viewed a weapon in the vault it pulled up the stats of all the other same weapons 1st or if you have only one, the same class of weapons into a view and gave you a weighted value of percs/stats so you could decide to dismantle/keep one or more in favor of new gear. I have so dang many pulse rifles with maxed stability, glass-half-full, full-auto, etc... perks and since I have so many some are in vault and some are stored on inactive characters (thank God for DIM - Google Chrome).
I'd like any easy way to view duplicates, with some assistance understanding percs to help me keep the best, frag the rest and earn more vault space.
It would be simplest to:
1. Hover over a weapon (in inventory or vault) and a prompt appears asking if you want to compare like weapons.
2. You click 'yes compare' or 'not now'. The prompt either goes away or ...
3. Your same name or same class weapons appear in a grid where stats are given a numeric value based on popularity, or performance. You even might show other similar stats (small bore, increased range, etc...).
4. We can close weapons we know we want or don't want and new weapons by same name or class get loaded into the matrix.
5. It would be very nice if we could mark weapons with an x for keep (one, a button click), o for dismantle (two, a button clicks), = for unsure (3, a button clicks). Then maybe let us sort our vaults in that way.
The motivations for doing this for player and Bungie are obvious. The player is taught to understand percs, which ones are desirable (I mean come on, not all weapons can have fire-fly ... errr right?) you might even suggest weapons to keep or trash to the player by having a graphic that fades from green to red or some such. Anyway, players optimize vault space, learn weapons, stats, classes and The Game Evolves Again.
Thank me later Bungie. I'm waiting the onslaught of job offers as you realize my profound game wisdom and seek to leverage it for personal gain. It's okay. I'll sell myself for money. Pay up!!!
