Because of real battles? I would have thought because none of the games have been nearly on the level of Call of Duty 2.

I prefer MW1, but why do you think CoD 2 is better?
-
The game play is solid. It looked phenomenal for its time and still doesnt look bad. The scale of the battles was enormous. The actors portrayal of this real life story was superb. The music was consistently outstanding. The multi-player had many modes and maps but started players out on a level playing field. It didn't NEED any sort of progression system to keep players invested- the game play itself was so solid it did so on its own. And the game further benefitted from that as well. To this day Call of Duty 2 is at the pinnacle of shooters. It is still one of the few shooters that games should strive to be like. It holds up extremely well.
-
I prefer MW1 because of the arcade style, but that doesn't deteriorate the quality of CoD 2.
-
Cod4 was far more popular than cod2
-
And yet not nearly the same level of quality.
-
Are you joking? The quality of cod4 was far more superior than cod 2. Admittedly, cod 2 made cod4 what it is.. But cod4 is far better quality and better polished than an older game such as cod 2. Check mate.
-
Definitely less polished, and definitely of a lower quality. Call of Duty 2 is still to this day what most games should strive to be. An outstanding mix of multi-player, campaign, and story. The story was based on real things, and that portrayal was phenomenal.
-
Cod 4 ftw
-
How profound and thought provoking.
-
Like the other person said cod 4 improved a lot and added a lot more as well
-
It didn't really improve anything, and I'd say adding things does not a better game make.
-
It doesn't if you don't do it right but they did it correctly(if that is the word for it)
-
I don't recall much that improved the general gameplay. They added a progression system to multiplayer which did not improve the game. They didn't add any gamemodes. The campaign resorted to cliche Hollywood storytelling. It didn't really add anything.
