Finally starting to get this weapon down in pvp. As soon as I got it at the end of my first playthrough I've been using that weapon alot. Basically the only weapon I've used other than the dark sword and a couple others. But the combos you can land with these weapons are insane. I'll bait them in with an l2 and then if I don't hit I immediately go for an l1 and if I connect I'll go with either an r1 or another l1. Even when I hit that jumping attack I immediately throw an l1 after and BOOM all the sudden they're have a third or less health.
One guy I was fighting basically had me almost dead right in the begining of the fight and I ended up beating him with those l1s and combos.
Loving the weapon. What's everyone else like for pvp weapons?
Ps. If you say estoc I'm muting you.

1 ReplyBest combo I have seen from them is the one from Praise the Sun; L1/LB-L1/LB If and only if they backroll, you can hit an L2/LT, and then follow it up with another L1/LB if you have the stamina. It's so dirty.

1 ReplyLorians greatsword, and the pontiff knight scythe and curved sword

2 RepliesWhat SL are you dueling at? Personally I prefer SL90 over 120 due to builds being more set in stone.
-
Estoc ;)

3 RepliesThe gotthard twin blades. People tend to panic when they realize they were just caught in a triple combo that destroyed their health bar. Thinking of going for a bleed build with other fast dual wielding weapons, but I can't seem to find a good weapon that can dual wield and break poise as good as gotthard.

Gotthards. The roll L1 is great, and the L1 moveset combos well. I don't use the L2 that much. Gotthards also have insane reach for longswords.

1 ReplyKilled a guy once with the Ityrill rapier (don't judge me, he had a moonlight great sword) and killed someone last night with the black blade. I always wanted to use the dual katanas, but they're not fully upgraded yet.

21 RepliesTwin Princes greatsword. It's got a fantastic weapon art, the best in the game IMO. And I've not seen a single person use it, for some reason.
-
You use the weapon art as the roll away

4 RepliesI enjoy Yhorm's machete, have an estoc as a secondary weapon for anyone who wants to use that bs weapon.
I also know when to parry depending on the weapon, animation, still mess up due to lag.
6 RepliesBlack Knight Greataxe is what I've been on the last couple days. I can only swing it a couple times, and it's slow. But it hits like a Soviet freight train. And I like the move set. Getting caught with the r2 must suck... They get tossed.

10 RepliesEstoc, Dragon Slayer Greataxe, Farron Greatsword. Yeah, I enjoy my OP shit, especially after having the pain of going through people using cheap tactics against me(I'm also looking at you katana fgts) It feels great to finally get some revenge. Though on a serious note, I love Greatsword and Curved Storm Sword ^-^ Katana fgts was just a joke, but I still despise katana users :p

This weapon, black knight greataxe and exile greatsword are amazing. Seriously! My black knight greataxe almost does 700 damage maxed out. At least that's what my stats say in right hand first slot.

4 RepliesRefined Gothard twin swords... I can kill in one combo at SL100. It absolutely punishes ppl and I love it. I'll either have my dark sword or knight glaive as my back up, just in case.
-
I've been using the exile greatsword.

I'm currently rocking a great axe. You get hit once and you're caught for the rest of the combo. It's usually a 2-3 hit depending on the armor.

1 ReplyEdited by Kankunation: 5/1/2016 2:54:08 AMGotta agree I'm loving them. I've been trying to fine some fun dual weapons to use. Dual daggers, scimitars, axes, etc weren't really doing it for me. I'm quite fond of the dancer's swords, but their moveset is a bit unwieldy and the split damage types can give quite varied results at times. But the dual katanas are just great. Single wielded, it does almost as much damage as the uchi with the same moveset and speed. Dual wielded it destroys, sacrificing almost no speed for double the damage and insane stunlocks. And the weapon art is great at both baiting and punishing people.

Don't say estoc There I said it!
