Pretty much all video games on the 360 and ps3 are presented in 720 HD and not 1080p. A lot of newer HDTV's, like the one I have, tell you what you are watching is running in. Do you think Reach will be in 1080p?
Posted by: necko Actually Halo 3 runs at 640p: http://www.xboxer.tv/2007/10/bungie_on_halo_3s_resolution.html If you don't believe me just google "Halo 3 resolution"
This man speaks the truth. The native resolution is 640p, which is then upscaled to 720p, worsening the quality to make it "run" at a set resolution. Frag ;D
Posted by: HUMMUS 27 What does MW2 run at? That looks pretty high, with 60fps. so why can't Halo do that?
Modern Warfare has a resolution even lower than Halo 3. Halo 3 - 640p Modern Warfare 2 - 600p [Edited on 02.07.2010 5:45 PM PST]

" A lot of newer HDTV's, like the one I have, tell you what you are watching is running in." That made NO sense at all. I am no expert, but I'd say it will be in both 720 and 1080. The Xbox 360 itself has that setting so why wouldn't a game?
Posted by: Crucio I think Halo : Reach will run at the same resolution, as it is the *same* engine. Here's the proof of the proof, necko is correct: Halo 3 native resolution is actually 640p This is from a Bungie Weekly Update.
Posted by: necko Actually Halo 3 runs at 640p: http://www.xboxer.tv/2007/10/bungie_on_halo_3s_resolution.html If you don't believe me just google "Halo 3 resolution"

Halo: Reach does NOT use the same game engine as Halo 3. Just because it uses some of the same code as the Halo 3 game engine doesn't mean that it's the same. If that was the case, then in a sense you could say that EVERY video game uses the same game engine.
-
It'll be 720p.
-
I would love to see Reach run in 1080p, but I have a bad feeling that it won't.
-
9001p
-
yes upsccale to 1080
Posted by: Vassilli0s Just to put things in perspective, ATI designed the xbox 360 gpu with the intention of every single xbox 360 game running at a required 720p resolution with 4 samples of antialiasing , so at the very least, one would expect such quality from bungie. Having drastically lowered my expectations since the release of halo 3, I would be delighted to get 720p with any antialiasing at all
Wow i didn't know that! How did bungie f up so bad that they had to go a lower res AND not employ the AA that the xbox was designed for? Didn't they know that jaggies absolutely suck and ruin a games graphics?

let's hope for full hd :P

1080p. A lot can happen in 3 years.

Microsoft puts a 1080p bullet on all xbox 360 games regardless of the resolution at which they actually run, so we already know the "number they put next to it": 1080p That said, 1080p is 99.9999% out of the question from Bungie, seeing as they couldn't even get halo 3 to run at 720p AND had to disable texture filtering, AND have stated a number of times that if they tried to get one of their games to run at 1080p they would have to employ smaller environments with less onscreen enemies to get playable performance with the halo 3 engine. Also, console game developers seem to believe that its the year 2001 and that 1080p is some kind of futuristic marvel of technology that might make its way into the market by the year 2050 and not something that can be obtained for the price of two xbox 360 games

IDK. I'd want to see gameplay, not game graphics. I'd like what's under the hood, not the body (yes, I used a car reference). And isn't Halo 3 running 640 res or something? 1080p I wouldn't mind though. :)
