The key you bought opens a door along the side of that area. Go through door, down later and talk to the statue at the first right. If you didn't unlock shortcut run through the area that's getting shot at by the giant towards where the tree boss was. Open door on the opposite side of the boss arena entrench. Follow the path. Don't go up the stairs to the right of the path. At the end of the path is a bridge leading left and a hole in the wall. Go through hole in wall. Kill rats. Find door. Talk statue.
