Really torn between both of these on which to get from the Abyss Watchers boss soul. And both my strength and dexterity are pretty even as of the moment so I may start focusing on a certain build soon (or possibly re-spec).
If anyone could tell me their thoughts on the weapons, that'd be great.

24 RepliesYou have to pretty much be a parry master to use the dagger.... I actually feel like both weapons are outclassed pretty quickly. Dark Sword master race. Quick like a str8 sword. Hits like a gr8 sword.

Depends if you're a Dex build or strength build But Faron's is better
-
Wolf is better. Farrion doesn't do the damage it should with that stamina drain
-
Wolf knight (artorias's) sword is a bit more skill intensive, but it's moveset is very satisfying. They are both pretty gimmicky though, so use the specials in moderation.

I can't speak for the Wolf gs, but the riposte on the Farron sword is no joke; it's worth using for that. The two-hand L1/LB is great for crowds.

I prefer the Farron GS and would recommend it if you've got the Dex and aren't a diehard artorias fan. It's got some fast moves for an ultra greatsword, does good damage with A-rank Dex scaling at +5 last I checked, and the dual-wield L1/LB combo can completely blindside somebody if they don't realize what you're using. The run-up to the first swing of the Tokyo Drift combo is essentially 1-2 free hits anytime the enemy whiffs a swing at close range.

Wolf knight has some cool front flips. But NG+ lets you have both.
-
16 RepliesFarron Greatsword. i have used both and i can tell you that wolf knight gs doesnt deal enough damage for how slow it is and its weapon art is basically useless because the r2 jump takes way to long and with r1 the enemies get knocked over or hit you before you can do the second spin.

Farron reks! Good on bosses, good in pvp and crowed control in pve in unbelievable. Do it. You can always go NG+for the other.

2 RepliesI've only used farrons Greatsword. But i really do enjoy it. It can be really handy to get around enemies that stunlock you. Fast with a pretty decent hit, and you can parry in 2 hand. I don't know how it compares to the other one,but I've not been disappointed with it
